After three months, SHINee and Red Velvet are back in Singapore again, but to perform at Shilla Beauty Concert this time round. This concert commemorated the launch of The Shilla Duty Free’s new store at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4, where the departure hall also happened to be the press conference venue prior to the concert that evening.
After greeting the media and the fans, both groups sat down to answer a series of questions, sharing their thoughts of being back in Singapore again and also giving some beauty tips. Especially for Red Velvet, it was only their second time back in Singapore, and they were very thankful for their fans’ love and support.
As jetsetters, SHINee revealed that their essential items to bring overseas are cosmetics especially skincare, and for Key, it is health supplements! When asked to choose a present that they would buy from The Shilla Duty Free stores, Jonghyun and Taemin cheekily responded with “the most expensive item” and “the cheapest item” respectively, while Minho will ask the other party what he/she wants, and Key’s answer was none other than health supplements.
As for beauty tips, Joy recommends using face masks – and she actually uses a cold face pack every morning. As for Seulgi, her advice includes using cleansing products that remove makeup efficiently. Meanwhile for guys, Key suggests using BB as well as CC creams, as they are quite easy to apply on.
As next year will be SHINee’s 10th debut anniversary, the members were asked about their favourite song, to which they replied ‘Replay’ (their debut song) without hesitation. Red Velvet was also asked about their debut song, albeit in a different way – What brings Red Velvet ‘Happiness’ – to which Wendy replied, “Of course, our fans!” The press conference ended, but not before Red Velvet teased that they would perform their new song later on.
The Shilla Beauty Concert was a night filled with high energy and excitement, especially for both SHINee and Red Velvet fans, who were greeted with goodie bags that had the groups’ exclusively designed luggage tags and stickers upon entering the concert venue.
The concert begun with opening act from singer Eddy Kim, who is better known for his Korean drama OST hits. He performed ‘Apologize’, ‘2 Years Apart’, ‘You Are So Beautiful’ from the hit drama Goblin, a cover of Eric Benet’s ‘Be Myself Again’, ‘Push & Pull’, ‘The Manual’.
Besides the main acts, dance cover groups also graced the stage to perform various SHINee and Red Velvet classic dance hits, to which fans were also seen singing and dancing along to!
Red Velvet took over the stage with ‘Dumb Dumb’, ‘Russian Roulette’, ‘Rookie’ and ‘Red Flavour’. When Red Velvet first came to Singapore a few months back, they performed at Suntec City Convention Centre as well, and the members were happy to be back performing at the same venue again.
The Red Velvet members also revealed what makeup products that they always carry around with them.

Of course, before their stage ended, Red Velvet delighted fans with their latest hit song ‘Peek-A-Boo’, to which ReVeluvs were already fanchanting to in sync!
It was finally SHINee’s turn on stage, and despite having only 4 members being present, Shawols’ cheers were still loud and passionate, and the members definitely rocked the stage with their powerful vocals and energetic dance moves! SHINee hyped up the crowd with ‘View’, before proceeding to greet the fans and continuing to share some more beauty tips – Taemin’s tip to a beautiful skin is happiness!
The winning team of the dance cover competition held by The Shilla Duty Free also got to go on stage and take a group photo with SHINee. Along with the pearl aqua lightsticks amongst the crowd, SHINee performed ‘Aside’, ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, ‘An Encore’, ‘Beautiful’ and ended the concert with ‘1 Of 1’.
