How to achieve the Korean makeup look

It’s every women’s dream to be wearing the trendiest look when going out with your hottest date of your life. It is no secret that there are loads of “Korean makeup or beauty secrets” out there in the world of google, but which is the ONE?

As the Chinese saying goes “世界上没有丑女人,只有懒女人“, which translates to there are no ugly women, but only lazy ones. I for one believe so, as showcased in our article on achieving the “Glass Skin“; it takes loads of effort and perseverance rather than a magic moment. Many would believe the magic to Korean beauty being cosmetic surgery, but things really go deeper than that. In recent times, there are loads of viral videos on how women were transformed just with good makeup skills; and many of these transformations were often mind-blowing (I call it a scam).

Good cosmetic surgery only creates the base for beauty, but maintenance is essential; and good makeup adds the shine to that beauty. Instead of showcasing “The Trend” (which gets updated regularly), I will teach you how to fish instead. Check out the ambassadors leading the Korean beauty (K-Beauty) trend, and you will sure find a style for yourself.

SSIN

A cosplayer-turned-vlogger, SSIN showcases Korean makeup often inspired by anime and K-pop idols. Her magical hands recreates the fantasy looks of popular characters like Elsa from Frozen, as well as divas like CL. Androgynous SSIN sees no boundaries in her metamorphosis, as she turns even into male stars like Big Bang and Cha Seungwon, as well as non-human characters like unicorns and zombies. The no-holds-barred vlogger can be critical in her comments on the products, which makes product reviews more informative and interesting.

Risabae

A former makeup artist for the likes of AOA and EXID, Risabae is an “artist” in recreating celebrity looks with precision. Her tutorials are detailed and  suitable for beginners learning the basics of Korean makeup. Her makeup style focuses on enhancing one’s natural beauty, and offers helpful tips for those who seek to perfect their everyday looks.

Yeondukong

If you’re looking for easy-to-follow daily makeup tips, then Yeondukong is the one for you. Yeondukong has a cute and friendly way of inserting her video narrations. Her makeup has interesting daily life themes like “Before the part-time job” or when “Caught up in mid-terms.” Yeondukong has also broadened her myriad of videos to lifestyle areas encompassing music, books and movie recommendations; similar to KAvenyou.

Sunny

Seek out this Korean YouTuber/vlogger whose currently based in New York, for all your K-pop idol makeup tutorials. She’s fluent in English, but only her newer videos offer English subtitles. She is probably more well known for looking like Lee Hyeri. Her channel offers a range of celebrity look tutorials, and daily look tutorials.

Daddoa

It is quite difficult to overlook her flawless skin, and time usually just whizzes by as people watch her create daily, date appropriate and back-to-school makeup looks. Her videos are extremely realistic, and probably resonates with the plain Jane on the streets (since she’s definitely not the most gorgeous blogger we’ve seen).
