It was a lovely Saturday on Sentosa as friends and families descended on Palawan beach in the evening to enjoy the second annual Sentosa Ukulele Festival. Fine tunes were performed by some masters of the happy instrument such as Hawaiian and six-time Grammy award winner Daniel Ho, South Korean Sungha Jung, and local acts such as Char Siew Baos, Ukes Avenue, Carmine & Kelvin, Jukuleles, and fan-favourite Jack & Rai.

Drawing a crowd of about 4,000, some of the audience were spotted with their own ukuleles and strumming to familiar tunes, while others simply kicked back with food and drinks on the sandy shore as the sun set in the background.

“It’s my first time in Singapore and it’s been so great. The weather was perfect this evening and the crowd was so enthusiastic; it was just fantastic,” shared Daniel Ho.

The Sentosa Ukulele Festival is one of two music events presented to you by Sentosa, The State of Fun, as part of the Sentosa Celebrates Music Festival ongoing till 19 May. Also organized by Sentosa as part of the festival is the Sentosa DJ Spin Off at Wave House today 3 May, where the winner of the competition will get the exclusive opportunity to spin at Sentosa’s year-end event in addition to walking away with cash prizes. Look out and come for other merry events held on Sentosa in conjunction with Sentosa Celebrates Music Festival such as Beerkini Rocks at Bikini Bar on Siloso Beach on 9 May; and Full Steam Ahead at Tanjong Beach Club on 23 May.
