Halloween is just around the corner… and if you’re a K-Pop fan that doesn’t like horror movies, what better way to get yourself into the mood than watching some spooky Halloween-themed music videos? We have broken it down to several categories, from the borderline terrifying MVs to the cutesy ones.
Quirky Halloween Themed MVs
Mention ‘Halloween’, and these are probably the first few K-Pop MVs to come to your mind. SHINee’s Married To The Music MV and Red Velvet’s Really Bad Boy MV perfectly embodies the spirit of Halloween with the fun and quirky elements, and without being too scary for the timid people. Another Red Velvet contender is Peek-A-Boo, although fans probably won’t mind being that pizza delivery boy.
Spine-chilling MVs
Don’t say we didn’t warn you – if you are easy scared, better prepare yourselves before watching these MVs. VIXX’s Voodoo Doll MV actually received a R rating due to its gory and graphic nature (trigger warning: blood and body parts), while Dreamcatcher’s Chase Me MV takes inspiration from a classic horror movie, ‘The Shining’.
Gothic Themed MVs
From full moons, wolves, vampires and decked in gothic costumes with complete makeup, Sunmi’s Full Moon, Boyfriend’s Witch and BTOB’s Thriller MVs radiate a dark side with their eerie vibes. Dreamcatcher’s K-Zombie version of their BOCA MV is also perfectly executed, with the group and the dancers’ acting skills on point as well.
Cutesy Themed MVs
Unlike the earlier music videos, TWICE’s TT MV is also considered a Halloween anthem, albeit containing no elements of horror. Instead, it played with the dressing up theme – with TWICE members dressed up in various iconic characters – like how one would dress-up for a Halloween party.
