Jay Park Takes On AIA HYROX Singapore 2026 In Debut HYROX Race

HYROX? Just another stage for Jay Park to conquer. The R&B superstar made his debut at the AIA HYROX Singapore 2026 on 5 April, competing in the Men’s Doubles (35–39 age group) alongside his trainer, Eddy. Known for his relentless schedule and high-energy performances, Jay Park’s participation may have surprised some fans, but in hindsight, it fits perfectly with his reputation for pushing boundaries.

HYROX is no ordinary fitness race. The format blends endurance and strength, with participants running 1km followed by a functional workout station, repeated eight times. Hosted indoors in expansive exhibition halls, the race creates an intense yet engaging environment for both competitors and spectators. This year’s Singapore edition, held at the Singapore National Stadium, marked the country’s first-ever three-day HYROX event, running from 3 to 5 April 2026.

The night before his race, the singer took the stage at an exclusive closed-door party, where free-flow Won Soju, Jay Park’s premium Korean soju brand, was served throughout the night. He performed a set featuring “All I Wanna Do”, “Who You”, and fan favourite “MOMMAE”. During his final song, he even stepped down into the audience, vibing and dancing with lucky fans who were left stunned by how close they were to him.

Before his race on Sunday, Jay Park also sat down for an exclusive media interview with selected outlets, where he spoke about how preparing for HYROX differs from training for a concert, among other topics. On a lighter note, he added that he was simply looking forward to unwinding with a cold beer on a patio after the race.

That preparation came in the midst of an already packed schedule. Between performances across Asia, appearances on popular South Korean rap competition show “Show Me the Money”, and commitments to his newly debuted boy group Lngshot, he still carved out time to train, a process he touched on during the interview.

On race day, Park and Eddy completed the course in 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 52 seconds, coming close to the 1 hour and 5 minutes target set by his trainer. The result feels even more impressive considering he reportedly tore about 80 percent of a ligament in his ankle last October and spent close to a month on crutches.

While Jay Park was the main draw, another familiar face caught the crowd’s attention. Choi Minho of SHINee, was present during Jay Park’s race, cheering his senior on enthusiastically throughout. His appearance sparked excitement among fans, many of whom were shocked to catch a glimpse of the idol, who has built a reputation for his competitive streak and athleticism through HYROX events around the world.

Social media quickly filled with viral clips, including humorous moments of boyfriends joking that tickets bought for their partners ended up turning into fan-cams of Minho instead.

Check out Minho’s race highlights here:

Minho did not just show up to support! Teaming up with Physical: 100 star Hong Beomseok, he competed in the Men’s Doubles (35–39 age group) division and clinched first place with a time of 56 minutes and 21 seconds, reinforcing his reputation as more than just a performer on stage.

From a spectator’s perspective, the event offered more than just competition. It was our first time experiencing HYROX, and the atmosphere stood out immediately. Supporters came armed with signs and banners, many competitors showed up in matching outfits, and there was a strong sense of camaraderie throughout. The emcee kept the energy high with playful reminders for duo participants not to forget their partners mid-race, and at times even broke into dance with race staff, much to the amusement of spectators watching on the big screens.

What stood out most was how accessible the event felt. There were clearly seasoned athletes on the floor, but also plenty of everyday participants taking on the challenge at their own pace. It made the experience feel grounded and relatable, rather than intimidating.

In that sense, HYROX leaves a lasting impression not just because of the star power or fast finish times, but for how it encourages people to show up, challenge themselves, and take steps toward healthier, longer, better lives. It was genuinely refreshing and exciting to see Jay Park take on his first HYROX event, revealing a different side of him beyond music. If anything, his participation may well inspire more people to get moving and take on a challenge of their own.
