Anyone like me have been hiding indoors away from the haze in Singapore? With extra time on hand, I went through my collection for colours to use in the “Fall” season. Well, even if weather in Singapore is a constant summer, I’m still very much inspired by the fall season tutorials that have been popping up on YouTube recently.
The first thing that caught my eyes was this reddish-brown matte shadow from BBIA. Being a online exclusive brand does not hinder its popularity in Korea, and it is known for its waterproof and smudge-proof eyeliners. BBIA offers affordable yet a wide range of colours. I’ve bought this shade from Qoo10 because of its reddish undertones that is different from the usual browns with cool undertones.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first swatched this because it was not only pigmented but easy to blend as well (most matte shadows are quite hard to work with). It’s great as a simple crease colour or as an eye contour.
The next one is an oldie but a goodie: Saturn from 3 Concept Eyes. This shadow has been featured on Get it Beauty as the best burgundy shadow of 2013 Fall. It is a shimmer shadow with gold specks and is very very pigmented. The range of the one color shadow collection that Saturn is from has buttery texture and great pigmentation. A little product goes a long way.
Don’t be afraid because its red and in your face. In fact this product can be used lightly to bring out its burnt gold undertone, which is suitable for both cool and warm skin tones!
Lastly, I will be introducing a lip product from Aritaum. If you like watching Korean beauty YouTubers, I’m sure you have heard of this brand and their mono shadows. Another product that was very popular in 2013 was their Honey Melting Tint and this year in 2015, they have launched the Water Sliding Tint.
As the name goes, the texture of this tint is smooth and watery. Not only is it easy to apply, it is very pigmented too. Upon its launch, many Korean bloggers including Liah Yoo has also featured this baby in their monthly favourites video.
The Water Sliding Tint has a total of 15 colours and the one below is in #15 Cherry Coke, a dark plum-y, burgundy shade great for a statement lip in Fall. It is moisturizing and its application just feels like butter, glides on your lips and even after wiping it away the tint is still visible.
Hope you find this short review helpful! If you want to find these items, you can check them out on Qoo10.
