
Fans of K-pop are in for a visual treat next month when they will get to see their idols in a new light. Golden Village has secured the exclusive rights to livestream Midnight Sun: The Musical in Singapore for only three days.
Starring SHINee’s Onew, GOT7’s Young Jae, DAY6’s Wonpil, NU’EST’s Baekho and Lovelyz’s Kei along with other renowned stars, the highly-anticipated musical will be screened live, directly from the Kwanglim Arts Center in Seoul, at GV Funan on 7 May, 9 May and 12 June.
Midnight Sun tells the story of a boy, Haram, who meets a girl, Haena, who cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. Originally a 90s Hong Kong classic, Midnight Sun was adapted into a Japanese novel, film and drama. Most recently, it was also the subject of a 2018 Hollywood adaptation. The greatest love story of all times has returned as the brand-new musical Midnight Sun in 2021!
Joined by an array of talented K-pop idols and theatre stars, Haram and Haena will be played by different idols for each session. Playing the role of the boy who shines brightly like the mid-day sun are Onew (7th May, 6.30pm), Young Jae (9th May, 1pm & 12 June, 5.30pm), Wonpil (9th May, 5.30pm) and Baekho (12th June, 1pm).
Meanwhile, the starlight radiant Haena will be played by Kei from Lovelyz (7th May, 6.30pm, 9th May, 1pm & 12th June, 1pm) and feature musical actresses Lee A Jin (9th May, 5.30pm) and Kang Hye In (12th June, 5.30pm).
Singapore fans can catch Midnight Sun live at GV Funan on 7 May at 6:30pm, 9 May at 1pm and 5:30pm and 12 June at 1pm and 5.30pm. The Korean musical will run for 100 minutes, and feature English subtitles. Tickets will have gone on sale on 23 April and are priced at $54 for standard seats and $56 for premium seats (GEMINI & Deluxe Plus).
