SHINee’s Key Promises a Sizzling Summer Comeback with Third Full-Length Album ‘HUNTER’

SHINee’s Key will be making a comeback with his third full-length album ‘HUNTER’ on August 11th. This album marks Key’s first new release in about a year since his third mini-album ‘Pleasure Shop’ in September 2024, and his first new full-length album in three years, following his second full-length album ‘Gasoline’ in August 2022. As such, it is expected to showcase an even more diverse musical world of Key and set the stage for a sizzling summer.

The title track ‘HUNTER’ is a dance song that blends grand bass and heavy kick sounds with rhythmic guitar riffs and various synth pads. Its lyrics unravel the “joy within pain” felt in the tangled relationship between a self who is obsessed with the other and that other person, with Key’s dynamic vocals amplifying the song’s dramatic appeal. Notably, KENZIE—who worked on Key’s signature hits such as ‘BAD LOVE’, ‘Gasoline’ and ‘Good & Great’—wrote the lyrics and participated in composing the new track ‘HUNTER’.

‘Trap’ is a song that combines punchy drums with a tense bass rhythm and bell sounds to create a chilling, dark atmosphere. Its lyrics, which speak of a nightmare-like presence that constantly stimulates self-doubt, are expected to heighten the song’s immersive quality.

Another new track, ‘Want Another’, is a dance-pop song with an unpredictable progression. Its lyrics portray a provocative character who awakens hidden desires and instincts in the other person, while Key’s powerful rapping and varied vocal effects add to the listening enjoyment.

The track ‘No Way!’ combines R&B and house genres, showcasing a minimal yet sophisticated groove. Its impactful lyrics depict a battle with multiple selves that cloud one’s mind, while shouting “No Way!” to remain steadfast and true to oneself without losing focus.

‘GLAM’ is a retro pop dance track with a danceable mood, built on weighty kick sounds, addictive FX vocal chops and vibrant synth layers. Through direct and intuitive lyrics, Key conveys his confidence and energy as he enjoys a self-directed life, calling himself both a dazzling party and a shining icon.

Perfect Error (Feat. Red Velvet’s Seulgi)’ is an R&B pop song that layers retro synths over a catchy guitar riff. Its lyrics carry a positive and confident attitude, expressing that even if you stumble a little, believing in yourself and moving forward can make for an extraordinary day. Seulgi’s warm vocals in the feature further enhance the song’s completeness.

Another new track, ‘Infatuation (Feat. EUNHO of PLAVE)’, is a modern reinterpretation of the 1990s new jack swing genre. Bright and cheerful synth sounds paired with a laid-back rhythm create a romantic mood, while the lyrics poetically express the “fever of love” — the longing for a short-lived romance in midsummer. EUNHO’s distinctive rap featuring adds to the song’s charm.

Key’s third full-length album ‘HUNTER’ consists of 10 tracks across various genres, and all songs will be released on major music platforms at 6PM KST on August 11.
