Charging full speed ahead with the release of “Rebel Heart”, MZ Icons IVE is starting the year strong. The song that has been gaining immense popularity has received overwhelming response worldwide!
IVE is made up of six members, namely An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo. On January 13, their agency, Starship Entertainment, released the music video for “Rebel Heart,” the pre-release title track from their third EP “IVE EMPATHY”, on their official YouTube channel.
Within just 32 hours of its release, the music video for “Rebel Heart” surpassed 10 million views on YouTube. It then went on to hit #1 on YouTube’s trending videos and trending music charts in Korea for two consecutive days. The song also received a warm reception internationally, topping iTunes’ “Top K-Pop Songs” chart in 16 countries/regions and entered the Top 10 in 26 countries/regions.
The released music video portrays IVE as rebellious individuals, each with their own stories. The members, seemingly isolated from the world, share their wounds and pain, ultimately bonding and growing together.
In addition, unlike most music videos, “Rebel Heart” features a significant presence of ordinary people. IVE explained during their comeback live that the album is about “empathy”, and that the inclusion of non-celebrity cast members in the music video conveys the relatability of the album.
“Rebel Heart” is the pre-release title track from their third EP “IVE EMPATHY”. After raising expectations through various broadcasts and content, IVE will officially make their comeback with “IVE EMPATHY” on February 3rd.
