“MZ Icon” IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Leeseo) has been officially included in the lineup for the global music festival, ‘Lollapalooza Berlin‘ which will be held from July 12–13 at the Olympiastadion & Olympiapark Berlin in Germany.
The announced lineup reveals that besides IVE, global artists like Justin Timberlake, Gracie Abrams, and BTS’s J-Hope will also be performing. IVE will join the other headliners and are expected to put on a spectacular performance, further raising the status of K-pop.
Lollapalooza, which started in 1991 in Chicago, is a major music festival held in various countries, including the U.S., France, Chile, and Brazil. Lollapalooza Berlin happening in July will be held in a large venue with a capacity of around 74,000 people.
Last August, IVE was the only K-pop girl group invited to perform at ‘Lollapalooza Chicago‘, where they shared the stage with renowned international artists. Despite it being their festival debut, IVE performed 11 songs in 45 minutes, flawlessly executing their performance and live vocals without any signs of fatigue, receiving enthusiastic reactions from the audience. They showcased diverse stages, solidifying their position as “the emerging K-pop festival powerhouse”.
IVE also confirmed their participation in the ‘Lollapalooza Paris‘ on July 20. With this, they will become the only K-pop girl group to perform at Lollapalooza three times.
Recently, IVE concluded the promotion for their third mini-album, ‘IVE EMPATHY‘. With this album, they achieved five consecutive million-seller titles and won 12 music show trophies. Additionally, their pre-release song ‘Rebel Heart‘ hit the domestic music chart Perfect All-Kill (PAK).
Proving their popularity both domestically and internationally, ‘IVE EMPATHY‘ ranked on the U.S. Billboard World Albums Chart, and the pre-release track ‘Rebel Heart‘ made its mark on the Global 200 and Global (Excluding the U.S.) charts for four consecutive weeks.
Another title track, ‘Attitude‘, also entered the Spotify Top Song Debut Global Top 10 chart, achieving great results. With these mega hits gaining attention worldwide, anticipation is growing for IVE’s upcoming performances at Lollapalooza Berlin and Paris this July.
