‘Tis the season of magic – because Harry Potter is coming to you in Korea! Not literally, but in the form of themed cafes where you can pretend you’re in Hogsmeade. Potterheads, time to tick these cafes off your bucket list when you visit Korea!
1) 943 King’s Cross (943킹스크로스)
Located at the heart of Seoul in Hongdae, this is probably the most accessible, biggest (spanning 4 storeys!), well-decorated and probably most crowded Harry Potter themed cafe – the queue just to enter is no joke!
On the bright side, there’s no need to fly all the way to London when there’s a Platform 9 3/4 right here in Seoul!
Every corner of 943 King’s Cross is #instagramgoals and there’s even a rack of robes, scarves and various props for you to choose from to play dress up with. There are signs to remind people to take their pictures within 3 minutes so as not to hog up the photo zones (which are mainly on level 1 & 2).
There is even a Hogwarts Express train that emits ‘smoke’ while playing the Harry Potter theme song inside the cafe as well!
Besides a cafe, this place also operates as a pub – located at the basement, after hours. Cafe prices start from around 3,800 won and each person is required to order a minimum of 1 drink. Currently levels 3 & 4 are still being prepared to be opened, with the themes of banquet hall and dormitory on each floor.

2) Potid (포티드)
If you’re at the other side of Korea in Busan, fret not! There’s also a Harry Potter themed cafe at Seomyeon. Potid takes after Ollivander’s wand shop, from the exterior to the interior of the cafe.
Don’t forget to check out other highlights in the cafe, such as Harry Potter’s cupboard under the stairs and the ‘Floo Network’ fireplace too!
The cafe serves mainly cookies and drinks, ranging from 4,000 won onwards. It’ll be perfect if they can have a Harry Potter themed menu as well.

3) Muggle Coffee (머글커피)
Hidden in Anyang is this Muggle-looking cafe, hence the name Muggle Coffee. There’s 2 outlets, and the one we’ll be introducing is the one located at Beomgye (with the white exterior). Although the cafe’s decor is less sophisticated than the first two, there’s still plenty of photo ops in this 2-storey cafe. There are robes, scarves, wands to try on and pose with, and a mirror that proclaims your crush on Weasley (Ron or the twins, take your pick!)
Also, get to know which Hogwarts house you belong to with the Sorting Hat!
Their menu highlights include Muggle butter latte, Weasley mocha and mascarpone carrot ‘Muggle’ cake. Prices start from 4,500 won and do take note that each person is required to order a minimum of 1 item.
