The main highlight of Fashion Steps Out 2014 – the Orchard Fashion Runway, literally stopped traffic as Orchard Road was closed off for the event on Saturday night for the third year running.
The show kicked off with 10 Harley Davidsons zooming down the road-turned-runway for the night. This year, 150 models were featured donning the latest Spring/Summer 2014 collections from nine fashion brands strutting down the 600-metre long runway. The nine brands featured were: Aimer, Ashley Isham, David Koma, DEPRESSION, i.t., Manish Arora, MAX&Co., Robinsons and The Reckless Shop.
It felt like a hot summer right in the middle of Orchard Road as models strutted down the runway with the latest Aimer beach wear collection, which was also the first time that a beach wear collection was showcased at Fashion Steps Out.
A wonderland vibe was introduced to the show with local brand The Reckless Shop’s latest collection, as an eclectic mix of well-built models, bunny ears, face paint were combined together with the whimsical outfits on the runway.
Another local brand, DEPRESSION, known for its unisex aesthetic streetwear collections, was one of the highlights of the night – as good looking male models with half-painted faces strutted down the runway wearing the label’s latest collection.
All 150 models walked down the impressive Orchard Road runway once more for the last time, before marking the end of the Orchard Fashion Runway show for the 2014 edition of Fashion Steps Out.
The six-week long Fashion Steps Out 2014 will take place until 18 May 2014, with various events such as Fashion Reimagined and Local Labels Exhibit @ Orchard Central happening at the moment.
