adidas Originals x Avavav Return With Their Most Artistic Collaboration Yet

Singapore, 19 November 2025adidas Originals and Avavav return with their third collaborative collection, reinforcing what has become one of adidas’ most original and boundary-pushing partnerships. This season, Creative Director Beate Skonare Karlsson brings a distinctly Avavav perspective to the Three Stripes, creating pieces that are not just reinterpretations but entirely new silhouettes — making this collaboration one of the most creative and thought-provoking to date. The adidas Originals by Avavav collaboration continues to bring a new approach to sports and fashion collaborations by being truly artistic in an authentic sense, not just decorative, but rethinking what an adidas piece can look like.

The apparel offering reimagines archival references through Avavav’s lens of exaggeration and contradiction. Track tops appear both in loose, slouchy forms and in body-tight second-skin layers. A cropped puffer twists proportion into cartoonish chic, while trompe l’oeil track jacket baselayers cling to the body like paint — a nod to the body-painted Beckenbauer tops painted on models’ bodies at the Avavav SS25 show, where the collaboration was first revealed. Shorts balloon to outsized scale, t-shirts are reconfigured with hoods, and accessories are reimagined as expressive sculptures — from a cap sliced at the brim to a bag given dramatic, sculptural form.

Footwear continues the transformation. The Modified Superstar keeps its sculpted sole and toe cap, now presented with a one-piece vacuumed leather upper that embosses the stripes directly into its skin — familiar yet surprising, arriving in two worn-in colorways. The larger-than-life Moonrubber Megaride elevates its bubble outsole with reflective accents, mutating into new colorways and even into a warped cosmic showpiece boot. Meanwhile, the collection introduces a surreal showpiece — the Luge Heel — featuring a 22-centimeter spike and inspired by adidas’ performance luge footwear but stripped of function, turning performance into parody.

The campaign is shot by Hungarian photographer Szilveszter Mako, celebrated for blending raw physicality with surreal, painterly compositions. His imagery further amplifies the collaboration’s artistic depth, underlining how unusual and authentic it is for adidas to engage in such a creative partnership. The photos extend the collaboration’s ironic stance — if adidas is for athletes, adidas Originals by Avavav is for everyone else and Mako captures that ethos by replacing performance with play, framing the collection in whimsical vignettes that highlight its eccentricity and unique vision.

The third adidas Originals by Avavav collection launches globally on 14 November and is available via CONFIRMED app and adidas.com.sg/avavav.
