Cha Eun-woo graced us with his stunning visuals clad in a blue shimmery blazer at the press conference yesterday for his first ever solo Fan Concert – 2024 Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator] in Singapore.
As it was his first time in Singapore as a solo artist, he is looking forward to his Fan Concert at night where he can meet his Singapore AROHAs (name for ASTRO’s fandom). Cha Eun-woo shared that in fact when he was having video call events in Korea last time, he met a lot of Singapore AROHAs and they all asked him to meet them in Singapore, and he is now finally here.
His favourite place in Singapore at the moment would be the Marina Bay Sands and he shared that he just had chili crab the night before, and he will be trying pepper crab after his fan concert (which happened on the evening of the press conference). A little TMI that he shared with us during the press conference was that he is unable to handle too spicy food, and that if pepper and chili crab are only a little spicy, he will be able to enjoy both dishes.
When asked where does he usually get his inspiration for his songs, he shared that typically he will keep a notebook on him when he’s on the plane or when he’s resting. With that on hand, in the event that he has a sudden inspiration or feels certain emotions, he can jot it down. However, he does not finish the lyrics or song in one go and those memos will help him complete the songs eventually. His thought process also varies for each song, and at that moment he will just write down his sincere feelings and then maybe months or years later, he will then combine them all and mix them together into his music.
Cha Eun-woo mentioned that his album – Entity is one of his most personal project. Knowing that his friends and AROHAs have different feelings and some hurtful memories, he hopes that they can be embraced and healed by his music. In conveying his feelings through his album, Cha Eun-woo hopes that everyone who listens to it can feel his emotions.
On movies and dramas, Cha Eun-woo mentioned that he does not have any specific genre in mind. He wants to choose his projects based on the situation and he also has a little bit of greed and desire to try everything. He loves both movies and dramas, and his choice on which project to take up depends on the script, storyline as well as the character.
When preparing for his role in dramas, Cha Eun-woo will try to read the script multiple times, as whenever he reads it again, he feels different every time and will find something new in the script. He would also ask and discuss the script with the director and scriptwriter, as well as talking to his seniors and juniors on set to get advice from them.
Cha Eun-woo also shared with us that while filming for the drama ‘A Good Day To Be A Dog‘, there was a scene where he had to kiss a puppy. But with a puppy being a puppy, it was unable to listen to instructions well. So in order to film the scene perfectly, Cha Eun-woo had to put some dog treats in his mouth so that the puppy could lick his lips and hence looking like he was “kissing” the puppy. Filming this scene was definitely something memorable and entertaining for him to remember.
He is also a dog lover, and we are sure AROHAs would know that he has a family dog called Dongdongie whom he will visit from time to time.
Cha Eun-woo’s next goal would be to find a next good project to start on and come up with a next best album and music. The day of the press conference also coincided with the airing of the last episode of the drama ‘Wonderful World’ and he hopes that viewers will enjoy the last episode, and he hopes that everyone that comes down for his fan concert will enjoy themselves too.
If Cha Eun-woo only had just 10 minutes, where in the world would he want to be and what does he want to do? Of course since he was in Singapore, he disclosed that he would want to swim a lap in the infinity pool at the Marina Bay Sands.
When asked how does he takes care of himself and recharge, he shared that just like everyone else, he will eat nice food, visit pretty cafes to eat desserts and meet his loved ones like his friends and family members and also taking naps.
Lastly, what would Cha Eun-woo say to give strength and comfort to people around him who is currently going through a difficult situation?
“First of all, there must be a lot of good people around you, so please do not blame yourself too much and then please take care of yourself and love yourself.”
역시 최최차차! (as expected of Cha Eun-woo!)
