On February, 10th, Xikers made a stop in the French capital. The concert was a part of their World Tour “Tricky House First Encounter”. They offered a show at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris, in front of their french Roadys. It was the last date of the European let of the group’s tour.
Xikers are still considered rookies. With only two mini-albums at the time, and the absence of their member Jung Hoon, touring may have been a challenge. However, the group has ignited the French scene despite a rainy weather. They proved themselves to be more than ready to take on bigger challenges in the future.
The concert began with a VCR that itroduces the group in line with the idea of “First Encounter”. When Xikers arrive on stage, walking with confidence, they start singing Tricky House. A smart choice, as their first song as everyone already singing and cheering. The from the fans fills the venue, and the first ment of the evening already has the members smiling and interacting with the audience.
The performance includes songs from the group such as “DO or DIE”, but also covers such as “Iffy” by Chris Brown or “Die for You” by the Weeknd. As part of the covers, the boys carried out a draw to create 3 teams, each dancing to music from senior K-Pop groups before ending up all together by doing “Bouncy” by Ateez. They then continued with a dance medley to the music of the moment from the girl groups.
During the show, the fans managed to show their love for a group that gave it back tenfolfd through both their fanservice and their own energy. Xikers, who accumulated a lot of stage experience despite their youth, were comfortable on stage and made themselves at home. The concert ended with “HOMEBOY” and “ROCKSTAR” with Roady still going wild.
While Xikers are, of course, very different from their labelmates of KQ Entertainment, the concert proved that they share the same talent and passion for performance. Xikers seem to have already grasped the meaning and essence of “performing”. They’re a well-balanced mix of charisma, talent, confidence and interactions, which is pretty much everything European audiences are asking for.
As they’re just getting their career started, there’s probably a lot to look forward to for them. The concert was a successful one – both in terms of audience size and performance-wise. Almost like a promise for a very bright future.
We would like to thank Xikers, KQ Entertainment and MyMusicTaste for their invitation.
