22 March 2015, Singapore – Pink Pandas wrote themselves into a chapter of the APink history book in Singapore on Sunday, at the APink Pink Paradise in Singapore concert. It was nothing short of a carnival at APink’s first overseas concert since they made their solo concert debut with Pink Paradise in Seoul, held at the Olympic hall on 30 and 31 January 2015.

Apart from the sporadic microphone failure that affected the the singing of the girls, fans were able to create a truly pink paradise in Singapore. The concert started slowly, with “I Don’t Know” and “Good Morning Baby”, but things got into the groove with a newer hit “Mr Chu”.

During a media conference held before the concert, APink promised the fans a great show and performances that will showcase their individual charms. The promise was immediately fulfilled with leader Chorong’s confident solo of Chris Brown’s “X”. As if the atmosphere wasn’t heated enough, Hayoung and Naeun followed up with a solo of SISTAR19’s “Gone Not Around Any Longer”. Namjoo then finished the first round of solo performances with Christina Aguilera’s “Dirty”.

One highlight of the Pink Paradise in Singapore concert was the use of a LIVE band, who was jamming to the hits of APink throughout the night. How often do you hear bubbly APink hits being played on the electric guitar, which sometimes make you feel like you are in a dance club in Korea.

APink became more comfortable as the concert pressed on, and their bright coloured outfits really brightens up the mood of an otherwise rainy Sunday evening. With the performance of popular hits like “Hush Hush”, “My My” and “It Girl”, fan chants filled the Max Pavilion at Singapore EXPO. Aegyo Bomi quickly brought out the second round of solo performances with a stunning pole dance routine to Ariana Grande’s “Problem”.

Being accustomed to Eunji singing, I felt a little disappointed that there wasn’t a breakthrough for her solo to try something else. However, the disappointment was no more with a flawless delivery of Beyonce’s “Listen”. Just when you think Singapore’s favourite Chilli Crab is missing from the equation from KPop groups, APink took the stage with “Boy”;

APink: “Clap! Clap! Clap! Chilli Crab!”.

With the girls’ bubbly personality, the only thing they wished for was to be close to the fans. They accomplished that by running around the stage and performed many other hits like “U You” and “LUV”. The encore saw the girls back on stage with their concert tee, while performing “Wishlist” and “NoNoNo”. Bomi surprised the fans when she took out a piece of paper, which penned her message to the fans in English. In return, the fans gave the girls a tiered rainbow cake in celebration of their first overseas concert in Singapore.

After taking a concert wefie, the girls ended the concert with “April 19”; a song with lyrics by Chorong to commemorate their debut the same day back in 2011.
