Singapore Apink fans, also known as Pandas, were very lucky as they did not have to wait long to see Apink return! Just 14 months after their previous concert, Apink came back to Singapore at the same venue for their 8th concert, <The Origin: APINK>, which celebrates their upcoming 15th anniversary on 19 April 2026.
The concert began on a nostalgic note as they performed their debut song “I Don’t Know” in true pink fashion, accompanied by loud fan chants from the crowd. They then continued with crowd favourites like “BUBIBU”, “My My” and “No No No”, instantly bringing fans back to the early 2010s era.
During the first talk segment, Apink shared that they wanted to shine more brightly on stage as they were very thankful to fans who had waited a long time for them. The youngest member, Hayoung, prepared her introduction fully in English, earning cheers from both fans and her bandmates. Namjoo also shared that these were songs they had performed back when they were in high school, when their concept was soft and cute. Now, as they perform these songs at an older age, they present them with a more mature style, after which she playfully flexed her muscles.
Fans were then treated to a closer view of the members when they stepped off the stage, throwing pink balls while walking through the crowd and singing “Wishlist”.
The VCRs prepared were truly the highlight of the concert. They were hilarious, and the members even mentioned that they could hear the fans laughing from backstage. The first VCR explored “What if Apink was a boy group – A-Green”. In the video, the members dressed up as young boys preparing for their debut, practising introduction videos and dance choreography. They could not stop laughing at each other’s awkward acting, and one of the short hair wigs even fell off midway through filming. It was heartwarming to see the members interacting and enjoying themselves with people they have known for almost half their lives.
After the A-Green concept VCR ended, the quintet appeared on stage dancing to DBSK’s “Mirotic”, which continued to receive loud fan chants from the audience despite not being an Apink song. Eunji and Bomi also wore glasses for this set, adding to the “cool guy” styling. They continued their A-Green debut set with higher tempo songs like “Fizzy Soda” and “Eung Eung”.
The second-to-last VCR of the night featured the members cosplaying different characters such as the Saja Boys from “K-pop Demon Hunters”, Glinda and Elphaba from “Wicked”, characters from “Avatar”, and figures like Judy, Nick, Gazelle and Sloth from “Zootopia”. The many humorous moments in the VCR kept fans laughing throughout.
They returned to the stage for their third set, which included well known tracks such as “Mr Chu”, a major hit that marked their peak in 2014, as well as “HUSH” and “LUV”. They also performed a remixed version of “Remember”, followed by their current title track “Love Me More” from their 11th mini album.
During another talk segment, a fan in the audience repeatedly shouted “Michyeosseo” (“It’s crazy”), which caught the members’ attention. Amused by the moment, Eunji invited others in the crowd to join in. Several fans stood up, and at her cue, they called out the phrase together for a few seconds, creating a lively and memorable interaction between Apink and Pandas.
The final VCR was likely the most emotional. The members were invited into a room filled with photographs from their past 15 years, along with messages written by fans. They were also interviewed about their thoughts on reaching their 15th year, during which both Hayoung and Bomi became tearful. It was clearly a mix of emotions as they reflected on being able to continue doing what they love for such a long time.
After the final VCR, they returned to the stage for the encore performance with “Hold My Hand”, a ballad from their latest mini album. A flashlight project was prepared by fans during this song. They then went down from the stage for the second time to greet fans while performing the lively and upbeat “Sunshine”.
A fan video was also shown during the photo session, and the members were visibly embarrassed by their younger selves, even commenting for it to “stop”.
Ultimately, the concert was not just a look back at Apink’s journey, but a confident step forward into their 16th year, with the members shining brightly on stage alongside the loud fan chants of Pandas who have grown with them every step of the way.
