Jo Jung Suk Transforms Into A Stunning Female Pilot In New Comedy Film “Pilot”

Latest Korean film “Pilot”, is a comedy about a star pilot, played by Jo Jung-suk, who becomes unemployed overnight then succeeds in getting a new job after undergoing a dramatic makeover. The actor’s unconventional transformation alone hints at a fresh, unique fun like never seen before, and he is set to showcase his unique comedy that never loses its hilarity in the face of unpredictable situations.

The fresh combination of Lee Joo-myung, Han Sun-hwa and Shin Seung-ho brings a unique dynamic to “Pilot”. Their perfect embodiment of characters, with great synchronization and unparalleled teamwork, ensures non-stop laughter for audiences of all generations.

Lee Joo-myung (“Twenty-Five Twenty-One”) makes her big screen debut in “Pilot”, transforming into the cool and confident pilot Yoon Seul-ki. “Seul-ki is a character who is honest with her emotions and empathetic towards others. I wanted to resemble her and be real in my portrayal of her,” showcasing her dedication to the role.

Han Sun-hwa, known for her vibrant performances in films like “Honey Sweet” and the TV drama series “Work Later, Drink Now”, plays the role of Han Jung-mi, the ASMR beauty YouTuber who helps her brother with his bold transformation. Han Sun-hwa shared, “I immediately felt an affection for the character when I read the script,” indicating her deep research efforts by watching numerous ASMR and beauty YouTuber videos to capture the essence of her character. Her impeccable portrayal of Han Jung-mi with her distinct comic acting and quick wit amplifies the sibling synergy with Jo Jung-suk, promising to captivate audiences with their humorous interactions.

Seo Hyun-seok, Han Jung-woo’s junior and Han Jung-mi’s senior pilot, is portrayed by rising star actor Shin Seung-ho. As Han Jung-mi’s colleague in the movie, he is a pretentious but likable character who presents a comic chemistry with Han Jung-woo to add more fun to the movie. Shin Seung-ho commented, “In order to understand and play the character, I discussed and studied his walk, speech, and actions with the director in advance. I also referenced current memes to highlight the character’s traits,” showcasing his passion for acting for his role. His distinct performance promises to bring a fresh element to “Pilot”.

From start to end, you’ll hear the moviegoers all break out into bountiful laughter! We really enjoyed this comedy film thoroughly, it was hilarious to witness Jo Jung-suk, or rather his character, Han Jung-woo transform into a woman and his attempts to stay in character while trying not to get caught.

Although “Pilot” is a comedy film, it also touches on heavier topics that’s prevalent within Korean societies, such as cancel culture and workplace harassment, especially faced by females. It was refreshing to see light be shed on these themes, along with the importance of work-life balance to be weaved into the movie’s plot.
