[Review] Once We Were Us Korean Movie – What If Things Were Different Back Then…

Starring Koo Kyo-hwan as Eun-ho and Mun Ka-young as Jeong-won, Once We Were Us tells a story of how a pair of sweetheart lovers reconnected years after their youthful romance, revisiting the tender moments and happy times that once made them each other’s world.

What is different from this movie compared to the rest was that Present time is presented in black and white, while the Past is presented in colors. Not your typical cinematography where the past is always presented in black and white. Towards the end, viewers will finally understand the reason behind this.

As viewers follows through Eun-ho and Jeong-won‘s story, they might start to relate themselves to the characters of the movie. Their past relationships, the times where both parties were not mature enough to solve problems together as a couple, or all the “What ifs” questions that never got an answer for.

*Spoiler Alert* It is indeed heart wrenching to see that present time Eun-ho still cries over the fact that he had let Jeong-won go years ago. He had loved Jeong-won so much and regretted every single cell of his body that he let her go.

Without going too much into details to prevent any more spoilers, this movie is definitely a watch and yes, do bring along a packet of tissue as we heard other people in the cinema sniffing together with us.

Do catch Once We Were Us in cinemas, from 22 January in Singapore cinemas!
