Q: Hi KIIRAS! Could you start by introducing yourselves to our readers?
Lingling: Hi, I’m Lingling, the charismatic leader of KIIRAS. Kurumi: Hi! I’m Kurumi. I’m charming voice main vocal of KIIRAS! Harin: Hi, everyone. I’m Harin, the visual center of KIIRAS. Kylie: Hi I’m Kylie, I’m rapper of this group. Doyeon: Hi, I’m Doyeon from KIIRAS! Roah: Hi everyone! I’m Roah, the power vocal and the youngest of KIIRAS!
Q: How did the concept for your debut song “KILL MA BO$$” come about? What was the most exciting part of preparing for it?
Lingling: We want to bring something new to K-Pop and so our producer thought of making a song with country vibes. That’s how it was made and we really enjoyed practicing the song especially when we practice the vocal harmonies. Kurumi: The most fun thing was that we all filmed music video together before our debut! It was very interesting because it was my first time filming an music video. Kylie: The company decided it. I was curious about people’s reactions after our debut. Doyeon: I think the country genre was such a refreshing concept that you don’t usually see in K-Pop! Because of our unique cowgirl theme, I was most excited about filming the music video. Roah: We wanted to try something fresh and different from the usual K-Pop style, so we decided to take on the challenge of mixing in country vibes — and that’s how ‘KILL MA BO$$’ was born! There’s a scene in the music video where feathers fly while we’re on the sofa — and it wasn’t CG! The sofa actually had a special device built into it, so I was really surprised while filming!
Q: Hi Lingling! How has it been adapting to life in Korea? Have you experienced anything fun or unexpected since moving there?
Lingling: Everything feels so different from Malaysia, starting from the weather. One thing I really like about Korea is that you don’t need to own a car — public transport is great, and the weather’s usually nice enough to walk around comfortably. I used to walk a lot whenever I had free time!
Q: You’re the first Malaysian K-pop girl group member and we’re all cheering you on! Has there been any food from home that you been missing the most?
Lingling: Bah Kut Teh is my all time favorite food! And also Roti Canai, Char Kuey Tiaw. Besides the food,I actually miss the vibes more like those Kopitiam vibes and all.
Q: Since you’ve been spending so much time together as a group, you must know each other really well. Who takes the longest to get ready?
Harin: I think I’m kind of like Kylie! She’s always rushing around in the morning, packing everything just in case. Kylie: It’s me because I have a lot to take care of. For example, eat breakfast, pack my bag, take supplements. Doyeon: For who takes the longest to get ready, I’d say Kylie! It’s because she always packs so many things whenever we go out—like vitamins, notebooks, and more. Roah: I think the one who takes the longest to get ready is Kylie!
Q: Has any member surprised you by being very different from your first impression of them?
Lingling: In my opinion it’s Kylie, she looks cool at the first impression but she is actually a cute and shy girl. Harin: I was really surprised by Kurumi’s Korean skills. I heard it was her first time in Korea, so I was worried communication might be difficult, but she’s been amazing. Kylie: It’s Lingling. When I first saw her, she looked calm and quiet, but now (I find that) she is very funny and very kind person! Doyeon: For the member who surprised me the most, I’d say Lingling! When I first saw her in a video, I thought she might be a little scary. But now I know she’s charismatic and super cute! Roah: When I first met Lingling, she was like a cute little bunny—but after training together, she’s more like a charismatic leader bunny!
Q: “KILL MA BO$$” combines a bold cowgirl concept with elements of country, R&B, and hip-hop, breaking the mold of the typical K-pop girl group. What kind of music do you each personally enjoy listening to?
Lingling: I enjoy listening to K-Pop, hip hop and R&B music. For pop songs, I like to listen to music that I can vibe with. Kurumi: I like chill music. I prefer something with a good atmosphere from the intro. Harin: Even though I perform energetic K-pop songs, I actually love listening to ballads. They’re so emotional and healing. I really admire IU sunbaenim… she’s such an inspiration. Doyeon: I usually listen to K-Pop even in my free time, so my playlist is always full of K-Pop songs. Roah: I listen to a lot of K-Pop and R&B!

Q: Outside of music, is there a personal goal each member would like to achieve in 2025?
Lingling: I would like to learn more about fashion and perfumes. Kurumi: I want to appear in a content called “Limousine Service”! Harin: I really want to improve my English! I would love to communicate more freely with our fans all around the world. Kylie: My goal is to study English! Doyeon: My personal goal for 2025 is to grow 2 centimeters taller! Roah: My goal is to master English someday.
Q: We’ve seen that KIIRAS often shares trending TikTok content. Was there a specific video or trend that was especially fun or memorable to film?
Lingling: We recently did a challenge called sing the song “Justin Bieber Baby” with laughter challenge and it was so fun! Kurumi: I remember the recent Golden Song cover. I was like, “Shall we take a video while practicing?” But I’m glad the fans liked it! Harin: It’s the “Golden” cover video we posted recently. I played the piano while Kurumi and Lingling sang. We were just having fun and practicing together, so I think it really captured our genuine selves. That’s why I love it so much. Doyeon: The most memorable TikTok we filmed recently was the one where we sang with our laughter. We had so much fun filming it together with the members.
Q: Lastly, do you have a message you would like to share with your fans in Singapore?
