Indie Taiwan post-grunge/ alternative rock band Ground Zero (放射空間) will performing at the upcoming Skechers Sundown Festival 2015, of which the band will be the special guest. Ahead of their performance in Singapore, KAvenyou managed to have a short interview with the group, consisting of members Ray, Ivan, Jason and 小欣 (Xiao Shin), to let our readers find out more about this talented band that is passionate in their music.
1）Ground Zero has performed their first music showcase in Singapore last year. How does it feel like to be back in Singapore again to perform at Sundown Festival?
VERY EXCITED!!!!! We love the people, the place and the FOOD!!
2） For people who has not listened to your music, how would you describe Ground Zero’s music style?
Organic Rock! American post grunge mix with mandarin pop music plus powerful and positive lyrics.
3） Where does Ground Zero get its music inspirations from?
Everywhere! From all happy and sorrow events that happened in our life.
4）Among the songs that Ground Zero have released so far, what are the members’ favourite(s) and why?
Ivan (Guitar): View Of The Past, this song really makes me want to think back about all the happy things when I was in high school.
Ray (Vocal): Children Of The Sea, because this specific song is about we Taiwanese and our band’s spirit.
Jason (Bass): Lost, we all lost something someone sometimes, this song remind me how it feels to lose something or someone so I have to cherish everything.
Chris (Drum): The Point Of Life, this song was written when we were in the army, and after the service we signed with I DO Music and released our first album, this mean a new start (point) in our life, and it really mean something to me.
5）Do you have any messages for your Singapore fans?
We are looking forward to see you guys at the festival! Please scream out loud for us when we are on stage and don’t forget to say “Hi” to us down stage! We LOVE you!!
