To kick off a high-energy week ahead of the F1 season in Singapore, the GrooveDriver Festival was held at Suntec City at the Marina Central District for the 2nd time! On 27 September 2025, international and local homegrown artists came together for one groovy night. The show opened with WHYLUCAS as well as Regina Song from the viral hit “The Perfect Pair”, before the vibe was turned up by K-RnB singer GEMINI.
Known for his heartfelt love songs, GEMINI started his set with “Bad“, “Love is Banned” and “MIA“. Despite commenting several times about Singapore’s heat and humidity, he sang effortlessly alongside DJPool, delivering “Know Me“, “Going“, and “Mon Amour“. At one point, he even waved back at the cheering fans outside the venue by calling out “Wassup!”, much to the crowd’s amusement. Midway through, he broke into a sweat and surprised everyone by taking off his shirt. Amidst the loud cheers from the crowd, he ended his set refreshingly with “Rollercoaster” and “Trip“.
YUJU took the stage next, opening with “The Killa” from her solo debut “REC“, all while holding a lucky fan’s phone and filming herself. She then performed beloved OST tracks like “I’m in the Mood for Dancing” and “Spring Is Gone by Chance“. During her break, she shared that she enjoyed chili crab a few days ago and was loving the Singapore vibes. She also spotted a sea of GFRIEND light sticks in the crowd and excitedly asked where fans had gotten them.
“Do you guys love “No Matter“?” she asked — cueing in GEMINI joining her on stage for the surprise collaboration. YUJU wrapped up with her hit “Dalala“, which got all the BUDDYs in the crowd dancing along with her.
Back in Singapore after two years, SHAUN turned up the heat with his latest track “Pixels“, “Closed Ending” and “Bad Habits“. The former keyboardist of the band, The KOXX, seemed stoked to be back and shared that he felt that the people were beautiful every time he’s here. He further joked that he recently got into F1 and though he will miss the race this time, he’s hopeful he’ll be able to return next year. As soon as “Way Back Home” — the song that launched his fame — began, the crowd cheered, feeling the nostalgic joy from the familiar beat. As he bowed his goodbyes, he left the stage in a buzz while posing for photos and signing autographs.
Drawing the concert to a close was UK indie singer, HENRY MOODIE, who serenaded the crowd towards the end of the night. We are definitely look forward to the F1 race happening soon, on the 1st of October – 3rd October!
