Lovers of all things Korean will not want to miss out on SGKstar 2015, a three-day festival showcasing the best of Korean beauty, culture and the arts.
Organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore, the festival will be held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre Hall F, from 4 to 6 December 2015. It will be the finale event of the 2015 Korea Festival, a year-long celebration of 40 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore.
The festival promises a complete Korean pop culture experience – expect not just K-Pop concerts, but also a Hanbok fashion show by Korea’s world famous and most well-known designer, as well as an exhibition of Korean beauty, food and lifestyle products. There will also be cultural activities and performances held throughout the three days.
Lee Young Hee Hanbok Fashion Show
The world famous and top Korean traditional costume designer, Lee Young Hee, will be showcasing her elegant Hanbok designs at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre on 5 December 2015.
This Hanbok Fashion Show is a major highlight event of SGKstar 2015 and it will consist of three segments – Traditional Hanbok, Modern Hanbok, and “Clothes of Wind” which is Lee’s special collection – lasting for a total of 40 minutes.
Lee’s stunning collection, which is usually only featured at exclusive diplomatic functions and events such as the Paris and Seoul Fashion Weeks, will be available for viewing by the general public in Singapore for the very first time.
It is a rare chance to see her modern versions of the iconic Korean traditional costume that is well known all around the world. In her designs, Lee retains the classic silhouette and clean lines of the hanbok while boldly experimenting with various colours and forms.
Five K-Pop concerts in three days
The hottest idol groups in Korea will take the stage every day during the festival. Fans can enjoy the charismatic performances of K-Pop groups BtoB, Sistar, Monsta X, Day6, and Got7 up close during SGKstar 2015. (Tickets are available through Sistic. In addition, discover a different side of Korean music with K-Classic vocal group UAngel Voice. Having performed in Korea and the United Kingdom, this world-class show will be free and open to the public on 5 December 2015.
Beauty, Food and Lifestyle Exhibition
Grab the latest beauty and fashion products, gadgets and popular Koreans snacks at the Korean beauty, food and lifestyle exhibition at SGKstar 2015. There will also be stalls selling Korean street food as well to keep visitors full and happy all day long.
