KISU in Paris

KISU, a former member of the group 24K, returned to Paris, France, to perform at Main d’Oeuvre.

Before the concert, VIP ticket-holders met the artist and received a signed poster. They hugged the artist and took a group photo with him. A sweet moment during which fans were also able to give gifts to the soloist.

The event also offered selfie tickets that could be used for either a selfie or a short video with the artist. For the fans, it was a good opportunity to get closer to him, or to bring home a very special memory with the artist.

KISU then started the concert wearing a pink and white outfit and performed “Waves of You”. He interacted with his fans during his music, already showing the overall trend of the concert. He then performed “Drive!”, and walked to the edge of the stage to be closer to his fans.

Fans in Paris then cheered on KISU by chanting the riff from Seven a way of supporting artists that comes from soccer. He then continued saying “Wesh”, a slang used in french, and introduced himself in French, then in English, and lastly in Korean.

After this ment , KISU goes back to singing with the tract “By Chance”, a music using the ballad genre, calmer than the two previous ones. Creating a a fairly romantic mood, he also brought a fan on stage to give her a rose. At the song ends, he goes on with a burst of “I love you”s said to his fans. He even cutely asked how to say “I love you all” in french.

He then resumed with a very calm music about friendship, entitled “Will Be Fine”. During this music, KISU sits on a chair, allowing him to look at fans and to convey the right feelings for this song. The fans sing along to the music.

It’s the return of more joyful music with “Love You Back”, which the singer introduces as a music you can dance on. It’s a track where you can hear the singer rapping.

He then presents new music “Dal Segno”. This music is also named after his tour. The singer goes on to explain that “Dal Segno” is a sign on a music score that means to go back to a previous part of the score instead of going to its end. It means that he hopes for a long-lasting relationship with his fans where he’ll also keep going instead of reaching the end.

When KISU starts to talk about his former group 24K, he explains how his point of view changed from his days as a group member. Back then, he felt like the stage was where he was standing, . Now, he considers the stage as the whole stage area, having to take up more space. He also says like he went from “performing for the fans” to “performing with the fans”.

KISU expects as 24K songs medely to start. However, it’s a different video that appears on a large screen. Fans gift KISU with a surprise video featuring fan messages and moments from his previous visit to France. They express their support for the singer, as well as how grateful they are that he came back to the french city. KISU seems very moved by the video and even sheds a few tears, joking that he’s almost unable to go on with the concert.

Afterwards comes the 24K medley, during which KISU performs music from his former group. He covers “Only You”, “Bingo” or “Superfly” while the MVs of the songs are shown on screen.

A VCR follows this moment, showing Behind The Scenes moments. It’s the only break the singer takes during the two hours that the show lasts. He makes his return with “BOY”. It’s a ballad during which fans turn on their smarthphone flash lights.
After the song ends, fans sing their cheering chant again, and the artist joins in.

According to KISU, the most famous French dessert in Paris is Paris-Brest. And he gets the fans singing along to the chorus of “Cheesburger” by replacing the name of the burger with the French pastry. Before performing the original music by interchanging these two words.

Kisu then explains that the upcoming music, “To. For You”, is connected to the fandom name of his former group, 24U. During this calm music, the singer is moved.

He announces he’s currently working on a full album, with the intent of releasing it in 2024. He also shares with the French fans a spoiler of several instrumentals from his future album. But since spoilers are better with the vocals, he then sings a new music which bears the new name of his fandom “Kiss U”. His choice comes from wanting to have a name that resembles his own name.

“Kiss U” is set to be released on December 29 in Korea.

After this segment that was full of news and announcements, he asks his fans to sing with him a cover of Justin Bieber, “Stay”. He continues with another cover of “As It Was” by Harry Styles.

He then goes back to singing a new track which will be released next year – “As One”.

KISU receives a French flag that bears the signatures of his fans. He thanks the fans again for the surprise video. Also comes the moment of the photo with the audience.

During the concert, KISU asked fans teach him many French words. He obviously wanted to have direct interactions with them, turning the concert into a sweet memory for everyone. The audience was very receptive to the artist’s music, and more than ready to engage with him. Kisu was very happy to see and meet people who, for some of them, have been following him since his early days as an idol. Some others have known him much more recently, but all were willing to make the best out of this show.

We’d like to thank KISU and Beyond Entertainment for having us at this event.
