Do you miss Gary? Because we sure do! Gary’s candid appearance at Dal.komm Coffee’s official opening sure impressed the crowd with his polite smiles and waves, exuding a charm, uniquely his. He sure lived up to his nickname of “A Man That Everyone Wants To Own” when he attracted a crowd of a few hundred of all ages – The young, the old and the young at heart.
Gary mentioned how coffee is an invaluable part of his music-making process. He then sheepishly admits that he drinks at least five to six cups a day! Although a coffee lover, he also has an incredibly sweet tooth and talks about how he sometimes adds a copious amount of sugar syrup to his otherwise bitter Americano. Therefore, he sometimes prefers Caramel Macchiato instead which is already a sweet drink.
When asked about what the differences were in his schedule before and after he left Running Man, he said he often “felt empty on Mondays”. However, he personally feels that it was a good decision to make to leave the variety scene and he even stated that this leave was only temporary which means fans can look forward to seeing Gary on the screen again!
With the rise in popularity of rap survival shows such as “Show Me The Money”, “Unpretty Rapstar” and most recently, “High School Rapper”, Gary also admits to having previously received love calls to be a judge on such shows but have turned them down because he doubted his own mindset and ability. He even expressed his awe at the standards of the contestants and said, “those kids are really good at rapping!”
Keeping his humble stance, he emphasised how rappers and rapper-hopefuls usually spend at least 10-12 hours a day practising and agrees that chances and opportunities should be given to them to shine.
Finally, the million dollar question was posed, “Will you ever return to Running Man?” to which he paused for a moment and continued, “Running Man is receiving a lot of love even without me now and even if I don’t go back to Running Man as a member, I would love to go back to Running Man as a guest and run with them.”
His recent departure from Running Man sent shockwaves across the Running Man fanbase. He stated that he would like to spend more time on his music career. And that brings us to the question, “So where’s the music?” to which he answered without prompt, “I’m working on it now and it’ll be out this year.”
Good news for Running Man and Gary fans! Seems like the reversal of Running Man’s cancellation isn’t the only good thing happening in 2017!
Dal.komm Coffee also celebrated Gary’s birthday in advance as it is coming up soon on 24th February. Happy advanced birthday to Gary!
KAvenyou would like to extend our thanks to Dal.komm Coffee for the media invitation.
