Alt-pop rock multi-hyphenate performer WOODZ brought his 2026 WOODZ WORLD TOUR＇Archive. 1＇IN SINGAPORE for his first-ever solo concert in the country, following the release of his full-length album “Archive 1” in early March.
Backed by a five-piece live band, the “Drowning” hitmaker delivered a tightly produced set that showcased both his commanding stage presence and consistently strong live vocals. The concert opened with a powerful run of “Bloodline”, “Dirt on My Leather”, and “Downtown”, immediately setting a confident tone for the night.
Throughout the show, WOODZ maintained a close and engaging connection with the audience. He communicated mostly in English, occasionally incorporating local flair with Singlish phrases and even describing the crowd as “bagus” (Malay for “great”), drawing warm reactions. He frequently expressed his appreciation, thanking fans and responding to their cheers with “I love you too.”
At one point, he introduced his band and mentioned that he had seen fans sharing about them online. When the audience responded with enthusiastic applause during the band’s introductions, WOODZ jokingly asked whether they were there for him or the band, before acknowledging the team’s hard work and promising they would give their all for the performance that night.
He also engaged fans by asking if they had listened to the full album and which tracks they enjoyed most, noting that many songs in the setlist were newer material. During high-energy segments, he encouraged the audience to stand, and they readily did so.
One of his song, “Love Me Harder”, was presented in special arrangement, with WOODZ sharing that he personally preferred this live version over the original. The absolute highlight of the night was midway through the show when he performed his viral hit “Drowning”, with the audience joining in for a beautiful, unified chorus.
“Cinema” had to be our personal favourite performance of the night. Nostalgic and slightly bittersweet, the song carried a sense of vulnerability balanced with quiet hope. There was something deeply relatable about the performance, and we definitely listened to song many times since the concert ended. After performing the song, WOODZ invited the audience to participate in the “Cinema” challenge, splitting the vocal parts with them. One fan confidently shouted that it would be easy, making WOODZ laugh, but he was visibly impressed when the crowd delivered. He remarked on how well the audience could sing and then agreed to repeat the challenge with parts reversed, much to the crowd’s delight.
The setlist also included a special Singaporean surprise, WOODZ’s very own rendition of “Twilight”, originally by JJ Lin. Before the performance, he admitted he had prepared the song but found it challenging, especially the pronunciation, and encouraged fans to sing along if they knew it.
Before transitioning into a more intense segment, he encouraged fans to headbang safely, leading into “The Spark” and “AMNESIA”. He later introduced “Human Exhibition” as a double title track and asked the audience to choose their favourite between the album’s lead songs. This was followed by “Smashing Concrete”, where fans responded with energetic chants during his performance.
As the main set concluded, the audience continued singing “Drowning” while awaiting the encore. WOODZ returned in a more casual outfit and performed “I Hate You”, “BUMP BUMP”, and “Stray”, encouraging the crowd to jump along. He remarked on the enthusiasm of Singapore fans, noting that even those seated in the upper levels were cheering just as passionately.
The concert ended on a warm and heartfelt note, with WOODZ forming a heart above his head and responding to fan banners with gratitude. He promised to return to Singapore on his next tour following a future release, expressing how much the audience’s energy and voices meant to him. He shared that the tour was an opportunity to present his most authentic self and thanked fans for their continued support, even playfully pretending to cry when teased.
Overall, the concert offered a well-paced showcase of WOODZ’s versatility across genres, supported by strong live arrangements and confident delivery. His combination of vocal ability, stage presence, and genuine interaction left a clear impression, marking a successful first solo outing in Singapore and setting high expectations for his return.
