Arriving on our sunny island for the Singapore stop of their highly anticipated XG 1st WORLD TOUR “The first HOWL”, XG (Xtraordinary Girls) performed a sold out show at The Star Theatre on 16th July 2024. With a never-before-seen concept, XG debuted after intensive training. They are a Japanese girl group based in Korea, making a global impact. XG is classified as X-POP, with “X” representing the extraordinary and the unknown.
The seven-member HIPHOP/R&B-inspired girl group consisting of JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA started their world tour in May and has also released a tour schedule listing stops in Asia, Greater China, North America and Europe.
Onto the Singapore concert, XG performed their hits like ‘SHOOTING STAR’, ‘Tippy Toes’, ‘TGIF’ and ‘WOKE UP’ among many others. Fans were also treated to impressive solo performances like CHISA’s rendition of Beyoncé‘s ‘If I Were a Boy’, JURIA’s performance of Adele’s ‘Hello’ and HINATA’s cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’.

ALPHAZ, which is the official name of XG’s official fanclub, came out in full force for XG. Many SG ALPHAZ were dressed to impress; their stunning XG’s one and only style definitely stood out with them decked out in bold colours, trendy accessories and hairstyles. The merchandise lines were long both before and after the concert, and we saw many fans walking away with the highly sought after ‘WOKE UP Replica Tee’.
During the concert, fans were on their feet grooving to all the performances and cheering for XG. XG even laughed and teased that ALPHAZ were so loud that they could hear ALPHAZ’s howling while they were backstage. In between the performances, XG spoke to fans in English and entertained with fun segments like a ‘Dance Party’ segment where HARVEY, HINATA and a lucky fan danced freestyle. They also asked fans for food recommendations, with HINATA divulging that she wants to have our local Satay and Laksa!
One thing we noticed that was unique at this concert as compared to others we have been to was that there was a letter box for fans to drop off their letters to XG. We spotted many fans snapping pictures of themselves holding up their carefully decorated fanletter with the letterbox. We are sure SG ALPHAZ were grateful that there was this unique opportunity for them to express their love to XG.
Ending off the concert, XG thanked fans for coming and said this concert meant a lot to them. XG also revealed that their 2nd Mini Album would be released on November 8th and for fans to look forward to it. Meanwhile, the 1st pre-song from the 2nd Mini Album, “SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT” was released on July 26th.
