We have just finished all 4 episodes of Disney+’s latest thriller drama – The Manipulated and already can’t wait for the rest of the episodes to be out!
Pretty sure this would be the drama of the year (and not because Doh Kyung-soo is in it! :P). Do read on with caution as we try our very best to not spoil any of the storyline for you~

In the first Episode, we know that Park Taejoon (acted by Ji Chang-wook) is wrongly accused of a brutal murder. He is a kind-hearted and hardworking man, doing all sorts of odd jobs to save up money to open a rooftop flower cafe. Despite all evidence points towards him as the murderer, his friends, younger brother and girlfriend all believed that he’s innocent and stood by him while gathering evidences to prove his innocence.
However, after losing the court case, his life continued to tumble downhill and was even bullied in prison. He refused any visitors to him and felt suicidal. In Episode 2, we saw that as part of the prison activities he attended church. There he met altar server Noh Yongsik (acted by Kim Jong-soo). Seeing how Taejoong reminded him of his past self, Yongsik approached Taejoong, asking him to keep himself busy and do the things he didn’t get to do when he was outside. So we see Taejoong started working out, practicing sparring by himself and attaining lots of technical certificates.
5 years later in prison, Taejoong became the altar server at church and met someone who was in a similar situation as him and this was then he realise something is off. Now the real drama begins!!

In Episode 3, we see Ahn Yohan (acted by our Doh Kyung-soo) helps his rich VIP clients cover up their crimes flawlessly but at exorbitant price. Back in the prison, after realising that there is someone behind his downfall, Taejoong began planning his escape. Observing routes to walk his way out of jail (literally).
Finally putting plan to action in Episode 4 we saw Taejoong’s jailbreak plan being foiled by an unforeseen circumstance. On the other hand, what we know about Yohan so far is that he is filthy rich, a little sick in the mind and has connections with the higher ups – even in the prison. He wanted the prison in charge to single out inmates who have the worst prior for some manual labor work outside of prison. After the selected inmates were “kidnapped” from their cells and sent off for manual labor, we see them arriving at a place outdoors and Yohan standing on top of a building, in which the entire setting eerily resembling Squid Game (in my own opinion).
What is going to happen to Taejoong? What is Yohan up to? And when will we see Lee Kwang-soo‘s character appear and how spiteful would this character be?
We wished we had early access to the rest of the drama but we don’t. So do stream The Manipulated together with us now on Disney+!
