Wanna One World Tour in Singapore is coming this month and if you are not feeling the hype, here are some reasons why you should!
More stages this year
Since their first Fan Meeting in Singapore last September, the 11-member boy group has released two extended plays (EP) with hit songs such as “Beautiful”, “Boomerang” and their latest, “Light”.
Additionally, their latest album “1÷x=1 (Undivided)”, the members were split into four different subunits. If you have yet to check out the subunits’ stages, let me tell you this – Wanna One did not disappoint.
Daniel, Jaehwan and Woojin formed the subunit Triple Position and ushered in fun vibes with the song “Kangaroo”. While Jihoon, Jinyoung and Guanlin, as part of the trio Number 1 showed off their manly charms with “11”. The duo The Heal, consisting of Seongwoo and Daehwi, made fans tear with “Hourglass”; and finally Minhyun, Sungwoon and Jisung, the members of the trio Lean On Me, did likewise with their song “Forever and A Day”.
They proved themselves worthy to be called the “Nation’s pick” and sources tells us that there is a high chance we would see the subunits’ performances live in Singapore!
With more hit tracks and the creation of new subunits, it is with no doubt that one can definitely look forward to more exciting stages that will leave you awestruck.
Bigger and Better venue
Last year, Wanna One came to greet Singaporean Wannables with a fanmeet held at ZEPP @ BIG BOX, which has the maximum capacity to hold up to only 4,000 people. This year, they will be reuniting with their Singapore Wannables with a concert held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the biggest concert venue in Singapore with a maximum capacity THREE TIMES the size of their previous venue.
Not many artists are able to fill up the whole Singapore Indoor Stadium but Wanna One is going to do just that!
Fresher looks
If you are a follower of PannChoa, you definitely would know that one of the members in Wanna One has been dubbed as the real-life Jack Frost. The youngest of the group, Guan Lin, had recently bleached and dyed his hair platinum blond. Here’s how he looks like in his new hair:
Maybe the rest of the members will also follow suit with trying out new looks? Who knows? But if anything, Wanna One has always been and is definitely going to be serving looks at this concert.
This could be their last concert as Wanna One
If you are a follower of the Produce 101 series, you would have known that the group that debut out of the survival programme; is just a project group that would only last for around a year.
Last year, we witnessed the heart-breaking ending of I.O.I and their final song as a group, Downpour; summing up how both I.O.I and their fans felt.
This is the heartbreaking truth for Wannables – Wanna One, like their predecessors, is a project group that will only last for a year or so. Though they may have probably been one of the most successful groups in K-Pop history, recognized for their brand recognition and marketing power, the truth is that they will eventually break up.
They will go back to their agencies, pave their own careers and be recognised as one of the former 11 members in Wanna One. As a fellow fan of Wanna One, my heart aches writing this portion but this is the inevitable.
Personally, I do hope that the friendships built between members during their journey as Wanna One still lasts and who knows, we may see them returning as 11 in the future.
This Wanna One World Tour in Singapore could potentially be one of our last few chances to see them perform as a whole; so if you are going to the concert on 13 July 2018, be pumped and get ready to welcome the boys on stage!
For those who missed getting a ticket for the concert, Wanna One will also be coming to HallyuPopFest2018 in Singapore where they are slated to perform on the evening concerts on 7 and 8 September 2018.
