[COVERAGE] ‘Grim Reaper’ Lee Dong Wook charms fans at public press conference

Korean latest hit drama Goblin’s actor Lee Dong Wook was in town last week for his first fan meet in Singapore! It has been six years since he last visited our sunny island, and more than 1,000 fans braved the heat and turned up at Plaza Singapura to catch a glimpse of the actor at his public press conference.

Despite the warm weather, Lee Dong Wook turned up in a suit and flashed his brightest smile the moment he arrived. Being a kind-hearted person as he always is, he expressed that he was very surprised and thankful that so many people came to support him, and also apologised to the fans for not being able stay long at the airport the previous day, as he did not want to cause any inconvenience to others.

With the drama, Goblin, ending not long ago, it seems that Lee Dong Wook is still used to the Grim Reaper’s life, as he mentioned that if he could have one supernatural power in real life, he would like to be able to teleport, as it is the best way to save time and avoid traffic congestions. Also, if he wants to come from Korea to Singapore, he can do so instantly as well. He even joked that if he could teleport, he would come back to Singapore every week!

Having acted in shows such as My Girl, Bubble Gum, Hotel King and Goblin, Lee Dong Wook felt that every character he acted in has some similarities to what he is like in reality, and if he could choose a role to try out next, he wants to take on a role that he has never tried before, and a character that is “more real-life” as opposed to Goblin, which was a fantasy drama.

With his Asian tour till July, fans can look forward to Lee Dong Wook’s next project, which is likely going to be a new kind of drama or film.

Meanwhile, fans who need to get their Lee Dong Wook fix can catch him on Hotel King on Oh!K (Starhub Channel 816), from Sunday, April 23 onwards at 2pm.
