JUNNY is a Korean-Canadian artist based in Korea with genres like RnB and Bachata beats. After his successful fanmeet in Singapore back in November 2023 for his album ‘blanc’, he is back again to embark on an Asia tour in Singapore and Jakarta on 26 June and 28 June respectively, with Singapore being at the SCAPE Ground Theatre.
DJ DAUL started off the set with beats that’s mixed with 2000s Pop, 90s and K-Pop, involving unique arrangements before JUNNY came on stage. JUNNY was surprised that there were more fans than the previous time and hoped that it will be hotter if there’s a 3rd time in Singapore.
His hits included songs like ‘By My Side’, ‘INVITATION’, ‘For The Weekend’, ‘figure8’ and his newly released song ‘RUSH’. When he asked whether they knew about his new album, the fans remarked “Of course we know it!” and laughter ensues, creating a jovial atmosphere in the whole venue. He continued with songs like ‘Early’, ‘Not About You’ and ‘Optimist’. Adding to his mischief, he sprayed water to the whole audience and mentioned, “Hey, I thought you guys were ready!” and the crowd cheered for more.
JUNNY wanted a chill performance as he felt comfortable being here and did a throwback of his songs like ‘Trust’, ‘solo’ and ‘MOVIE’. He shared that it has been 5 years since he came to South Korea and has dealt with life during COVID-19, so he was thankful for the experience, and the support and love from his fans throughout the years.
He continued serenading the crowd with an acapella medley of ‘boyhood’, ‘Switch’, DAY6’s ‘You Were Beautiful’ and Bruno Mars’ ‘That’s What I Like’ with his exceptional vocals. When the fans asked if he had the time to sightsee in Singapore, he expressed his love for the deep-fried tofu he had for dinner together with chicken rice. It was regrettable that he couldn’t explore more but promised to do so the next time he comes.
