Jae Joong Notices Husband’s Banner And Cheekily Questions Fellow Husbands In Crowd At His Singapore ‘Galaxy 1986’ Fan Concert

After years of anticipation, Jae Joong finally returned to Singapore for his first solo concert in the country. Held at ARENA @ EXPO on 28 March 2026, the 2026 J-Party Asia Tour Fan Concert “GALAXY 1986” offered an evening filled with laughter, powerful live vocals, and plenty of hilarious moments. More than just a fan concert, the night felt like a reunion long overdue! The audience present that day reflected his wide-reaching appeal, with families in attendance, from wives bringing their husbands to mothers accompanying their children, highlighting the lasting bond he has built with fans over the years.

He opened with “Maze” and “Just Another Girl”, delivering powerful live vocals before moving into an interactive game segment. The concert continued with “Dopamine” after, where he performed a brief rock-inspired section through a loudhailer; “Glorious Day”, with fans enthusiastically joining in; and “I’ll Protect You”, the OST from the K-Drama Protect The Boss”, during which he moved through the crowd, highlighting his range across different styles and moods.

The game segment began with Jae Joong picking mission balls from a claw machine, followed by a challenging ping pong task that required bouncing balls across an egg tray and another round which needed him to bounce them onto a pot lid. Despite multiple attempts, he struggled to land them. After several creative tries, including bouncing multiple balls at once and even blowing them to keep them in place, Jae Joong declared the game too difficult before tossing the balls into the crowd in mock frustration, making everyone laugh.

One of the night’s most memorable segments saw Jae Joong take on the role of photographer. Armed with a camera, he captured fans while jokingly noting how their expressions shifted from tense when taking photos of him to shy and bashful when he aimed the camera at them. He also singled out couples in the crowd, leading to several awkward but humorous moments when some pairs turned out not to be actual couples. After a few tries, he finally found a real couple, and upon seeing their matching rings, he expressed playful mock envy, eliciting laughter from the audience.

On the performance front, Jae Joong once again proved why he is a stellar live performer. One of our favorite moments of the night was “Summer J”, where the audience rose to their feet as he ran across the stage wielding a green LED sword. Fans joined in the fanchant, shouting “J” in unison and clapping along under glowing purple lights, while Jae Joong moved into the crowd, jumping and interacting closely with fans, who happily matched his energy.

While saying his goodbyes, he reflected on the overwhelming energy from fans, saying their cheers made him feel rejuvenated, almost as if he had grown a year younger. Jae Joong shared that he had intended to give energy to fans but felt he had received even more in return. He praised Singapore fans, apologized for not visiting more often, and revealed that the J-Party series had ended. He added that this fan concert format would likely be the last of its kind but reassured fans he would continue to return through future concerts. He also spoke candidly about the significance of finally fulfilling his promise to return to Singapore, expressing gratitude and concern whenever fans traveled long distances to support him.

As the concert drew to a close, fans surprised Jae Joong during the mandatory photo time with a video tribute featuring nostalgic footage from his earliest visits to Singapore and moments shared over the years, moving long-time fans to tears as many wiped their eyes. The tribute continued with a banner reading, “After a long wait, we’re finally with you in this galaxy today,” followed by a singalong to “Rockstar” that ended with a heartfelt chorus of “Jae Joong-ah, saranghae!” A green birthday cake was then wheeled onto the stage, prompting laughter from the singer as he joked it was slightly late for a birthday celebration while expressing his gratitude.

Lastly, a moment that had everyone cracking up came when Jae Joong noticed a banner held by a husband in the front row reading, “Hi the rival of my love, my wife loves you so much”. Playing along, he jokingly told the wife “I love you,” praised the husband for being supportive, and cheekily asked what the other husbands in the audience were doing.

Concluding his encore by tossing slogans into the crowd, Jae Joong made it a truly Glorious Day for many long-time fans. The evening was filled with nostalgia and joy and the J-Party format, which blended concert and fan meeting elements, created an intimate, personal experience. Jae Joong balanced his presence as a seasoned performer with mischievous charm, delivering a night fans will not soon forget. We look forward to his future new activities and music in the year ahead!
