After a two-year-long wait, Korean rock band FTISLAND is finally back on our shores again for their FTISLAND 6th Anniversary [FTHX] Live in Singapore concert. The band, consisting of members Lee Hongki, Choi Jonghun, Lee Jaejin, Song Seunghyun and Choi Minhwan were happy to be back here in Singapore, especially since Korea is having its winter season currently – but then it’s too hot for them too!
FT ISLAND shared about their journey through the past six years, where they had their ups and downs since debut as they were the first idol band back in the industry then. The members debuted at a young age, which led to the public speculating on how long they could last. The toughest thing that they have experienced was the stereotyping they received, as people were doubtful whether the band will last with the idol band concept (but look at where they are now!)
Jaejin revealed that he is following the drama that Hongki is currently acting in, Bride of the Century, but it was because he sang the theme song so it was really fascinating to hear his singing on a drama series. He added that he found Hongki’s acting a little weird initially as it has been awhile since he last acted. Hongki defended himself and replied that he felt his acting was quite natural.
As Jonghun’s birthday coincided with the day of the press conference, he was asked if the members had prepared anything special for him, to which the other members replied that they were expecting Jonghun to prepare something for them instead!
The members of FT ISLAND encouraged their female fans, or Primadonna, to wear sneakers instead of heels to fully enjoy the night with FT ISLAND. Hongki also reminded those attending the concert to drink plenty of water, as it will be a tiring but crazy concert.
