Chen, widely known for his strong vocals, took to the stage for his first solo performance in his concert tour <Arcadia> in Singapore. It was a long-awaited moment for fans, who filled the venue with lightsticks and waved them throughout the show. With his steady, distinctive vocals and minimal stage effects, the performance stayed firmly focused on his voice, creating an intimate atmosphere that allowed fans to feel closely connected to him from start to finish.
Chen opened the night with “No Gravity” and “Fall in Love Again”, delivering the songs with a live quality almost akin to the CD version. Chen also delivered his genuine feelings to fans in “Photograph”, reflecting personal moments that he hoped would remain in their memories. The atmosphere grew warmer as fans sang along to “Starlight” and “Broken Memory”, made even more memorable when Chen stepped off stage to meet fans up close in their seats. One of the most unforgettable moments came when he invited fans to sing along to “Beautiful Goodbye”. Chen was also visibly touched by the loudest singalongs and applause of the night when he sang to the well-loved K-drama OSTs “Everytime” and “Best Luck” during the encore of the show.
During the concert, Chen chatted with fans, creating the feeling of an intimate conversation as he shared some promises he hopes they will keep – to follow well and cheer on loudly, to enjoy and sing along together, and to enjoy till the end fully without hesitation. Chen shared that he feels most alive and empowered when on stage, especially when he faces his fans. The tour’s setlist reflected a journey through his past, including memories from his childhood. While there was a sense of nostalgia, he also acknowledged growth and spoke honestly to his now-adult fans. Chen reflected with fans on how there will be times people may need to do things they don’t want to, bringing confusion and anxiety over the unexpected future. However, he reassured fans that through his music, he hopes to offer comfort, describing his songs as a small flower gift, something fans can hold onto during difficult moments.
Singapore held a special place in this tour, as Chen expressed how deeply he felt the love from his fans. The stop was also the final leg of the <Arcadia> tour, making it even more meaningful for him. Fans also prepared a surprise fan video for him highlighting their long wait of 2402 days since his last visit. Filled with gratitude over the surprise, Chen promised not to make fans wait for long and shared his hopes of returning soon.
As the concert reached the end, Chen reflected on his journey throughout the tour, sharing that he had given his best at every stage. Throughout the album production to the show performances, he had challenged himself in new ways even when faced with fear. Chen also specially expressed gratitude to the staff, performances and band who supported him throughout the tour. While there was reluctance to greet goodbye, Chen reassured that he would continue to work hard and return again with new performances in the future.
