BTS and Starbucks Korea have come together for one of the first biggest and most exciting collaborations of 2020, “Be the Brightest Stars”. This also marks Starbucks Korea’s first ever collaboration with a celebrity.
Starting from January 21, a portion of the proceeds from the “Be the Brightest Stars” campaign will be donated to the Beautiful Foundation’s Opportunity Youth Independence Project, to raise funds to support programs for disadvantaged young people in South Korea.
“We’re extremely excited to collaborate with global artists like BTS to create a bright future for the youth of South Korea,” said David Song, CEO, Starbucks Coffee Korea. “I hope that our customers will be inspired by BTS and the Beautiful Foundation, and help us draw more attention to these essential programs for young people in Korea, who are truly shining stars.”
As part of the campaign, Starbucks stores in South Korea will offer a variety of products in shades of purple reminiscent of a starry night. During the campaign period, ‘Make It Right’ from the album “Map of the Soul: Persona” will also be played in Starbucks Korea stores.
With every purchase of 2 food items, customers will receive a complimentary purple candle, shaped after the official BTS logo. The promotion ends on February 6, or while stocks last.
Check out the campaign food items below:
This feature beverage is subtly flavored with elderflower, grape juice and fruit, and is available both hot and iced.
Other food offerings include the Blueberry Star Macaron, Vanilla Star Macaron and the Purple Star Pound. The cheesecake and the macarons will be topped with chocolates in BTS logo shape. This entire spread of food takes their fan colour, purple, to a whole new level.
On top of the food items, there will also be 6 limited edition merchandise featuring starry patterns for sale. Here’s a closer look of the merchandise:
Merchandise purchases are limited to one quantity per item per customer – to curb on resellers and to allow as many ARMY to be able to support their idols for a good cause. Do take note that the merchandise are not available in U.S. army stores, stores in malls, department stores, and stores that do not offer any merchandise.
Customers who purchase the collab merch will also receive this starry purple patterned BTS x Starbucks paper bag. Cup sleeves with a similar design are also available in limited quantities for customers purchasing items that support the Beautiful Foundation.
Although this campaign is only limited to South Korea for now, we hope that it will be available globally in the near future – so that international ARMY will also be able to celebrate the spirit of giving everywhere they go.
