Welcome to another week of Wanderlust Wednesday! This time around I am bringing you to an art exhibition by the ‘Contemporary Art Queen’, Kusama Yayoi!
You guys will be able to enjoy a series of Wanderlust Wednesdays in Taiwan! That is because I travelled to Taiwan recently in May for about 2 weeks! So this might be a good guide or is helpful to you if you are planning to go to Taiwan in the near future.
Kusama Yayoi is a Japanese artist who started to paint in polka dots and nets as motifs at the age of ten. Since then, she has held exhibitions all over the world, including France, England, New York, Seoul, Tokyo and many more!
Back with a new exhibition, “A Dream I dreamed“, is travelling through Asia, starting from South Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan, Kaohsiung and now it is in view at Taiwan, Taichung and will be moving over to New Delhi in November 2015.
The exhibition encompasses a lot of her works, mainly in polka dot forms and also large installations of various media.
No photography was allowed in the gallery, thus I can only take photos outside the gallery, which was set up with large polka dot balls!
At the end of the exhibition, the gallery sitter passed us one set of polka dot stickers in different colours and we are allowed to stick these stickers anywhere we like in the room. It was very interesting as you can see various ideas visitors thought of with the use of these stickers. It was such a pity because we are not allowed to keep the stickers and take them out of the gallery!
Go and have a look if you are in Taiwan before it ends in late August!
