Get ready for trendy Gen Z icons, STAYC’s first ever solo concert here, with the Singapore leg of their [TEENFRESH] World Tour taking place on 16 February 2024.
As we eagerly await their upcoming concert, it’s the perfect time to dive into a playlist of their chart-topping hits and hidden B-side gems (if you have not already created one from their concert tour setlist).
We’ve got your back–we have picked out a couple of essential STAYC tracks to play on loop and bring up your energy levels, while counting down to the concert! (Honestly, it was tough trying to narrow down the list because they are all such bops.)
1) Stereotype
This track probably best encapsulates the meaning of ‘TEENFRESH’, with its freshness and catchy tunes. This song also evokes a nostalgic and yet timeless vibe, making it the perfect song to listen at any time of the day.
2) ASAP
I remember being hooked onto this song when it first came out because of its uniqueness (I especially loved where each member say ‘ASAP’ at different parts of the song). Not to forget the iconic ‘punching hands’ choreography – which we can finally see in person here after more than 2 years of the song’s release.
3) Poppy
Originally released as a Japanese single, the Korean version was released afterwards (alongside ‘Teddy Bear’), and STAYC slayed both versions.
When I first heard the Japanese version, I have to admit that I was not a fan of the song initially, but it grew on me, and the chorus is so addictive that the “poppy poppy…” line was stuck in my head and the rest is history–this was on loop for at least a month, and I can foresee the same thing happening to the audience after watching the ‘Poppy’ stage at the concert.
4) RUN2U
This is my favourite STAYC song of all time, and I am literally obsessed with this song till this day. It is amazing how their vocals are all distinctly different, and yet they blend in so well to fit into this masterpiece.
5) So Bad
Of course, their debut song deserves a spot on this list since it ‘stole our hearts’ from the first listen. This also marked the birth of their iconic “STAYC girls, it’s going down”.
6) Young Luv
This B-side track is so beautiful, it certainly deserves more recognition. Although this song does not have any dance choreography, you can each member shine and deliver their lines effortlessly with their amazing vocals.
