Before N.Flying even struck their first chord at The Theatre at Mediacorp, the night already had a running theme—quite literally.
For vocalists Lee Seunghyub and Yoo Hwe Seung, Singapore is a place where they “run into” N.Fias. For Seunghyub, who normally jogs in the cold weather, doing his usual run in Singapore’s humidity was a first. “It’s so hot… but it feels good,” he laughed, adding that each time he turned a corner, he found himself bumping into Singapore N.Fias.
Hwe Seung’s story was even more unforgettable. He confessed that he went for a run after a long time the day before the concert, and coincidentally bumped into N.Fias at the end — when he was really tired. But he pretended he was perfectly fine, keeping a poker face and steady breath. Only after the fans walked away did he collapse internally, panting like crazy.
“So embarrassing,” he admitted, sending the crowd into laughter.
These running stories set the perfect tone for N.Flying’s first-ever solo concert in Singapore—a night fuelled by sincerity, humour, and fan love.
Purple, Orange, and a Very “Jialat” Start
The official dress code was purple, but not everyone managed to secure something in the right shade — the N.Flying members included. Nonetheless, the N.Fie-bongs (N.Flying’s lightsticks) washed the theatre in a warm orange glow, filling the venue with a soft, sunset-like hue.
By the fourth song, N.Flying attempted to slip the Singlish word jialat into the start of the song “I Like You” — and it failed spectacularly. Seunghyub explained that the Korean word 망했다 fits neatly into three syllables, while jialat only has two. Hwe Seung, however, showed the proper way to incorporate the word into the song, sending the crowd into loud cheers.
The word jialat became the night’s running inside joke, resurfacing again and again, deepening the bond between the band and their fans.
With the mood set, N.Flying charged into songs such as “Run Like This” and “Rise Again” from their latest album “Everlasting”. The audience took over the chorus—“run like this, everybody come and go” — their voices filling the theatre and driving the energy forward with every beat.
Singapore’s heat became a recurring topic. Drummer Kim Jaehyun nodded furiously when asked if he felt hot, while Seunghyub admitted he was trying to save some energy but was “sweating a lot… like always.”
Despite the heat, the synergy stayed electric. After completing military service and marking their 10th anniversary, these stages felt symbolic — proof that the band had come full circle, returning stronger and closer than ever.
Spring Memories, Flashbacks, and Serious Feels
The emotional moment of the night came during “Spring Memories” and “Flashback”, when Hwe Seung confessed that singing these two songs in Singapore hit differently as he had “more feels and was more moved than usual”.
Seunghyub teased him immediately:
“You 감동 (touched by) yourself?”
And after Hwe Seung shared the parts of the lyrics that moved him, Seunghyub continue his teasing:
“You 울컥-ed (got emotional) yourself?”
But beneath the jokes, there was truth.
The lyrics, the milestone year, the weight of ten years as a band—it all converged. Even bassist Seo Dongsung, usually light-hearted, admitted some parts moved him, which Seunghyub jokingly dismissed because he couldn’t hear Dongsung singing from the back.
Each member carried a different personality, yet all shared the same gratitude—a feeling the audience could sense throughout the theatre.
Chaos, Jumps, and Beatboxing Madness
The energy flipped instantly as “Oh Really,” “Pardon,” and “4242” blasted through the hall. Fans jumped hard enough to shake the theatre, and the members jumped with them.
N.Fias on the third floor were not forgotten, as members shared that they could see them waving their lightsticks and encouraged them to continue enjoying the concert even if they couldn’t see their faces clearly.
A highlight came after “Firefly” and “Dangerously” when Hwe Seung praised Cha Hun’s guitar solo, and that somehow spiralled into a beatbox battle, with Hwe Seung, Seunghyub, and finally Dongsung beatboxing with his bass.
When the main set neared its end, Seunghyub delivered one of the night’s most moving messages:
“Everyone, when you go back to your real life, we are always breathing and living beside you, and will continue to do our live (concert).”
The transition into “Moebius,” “Stand By Me,” and “Everlasting” amplified the nostalgia. Hwe Seung later joked that he shouldn’t have put these three songs together because they are “too touching” to sing these days.
Six years since they last met Singapore N.Fias, Hwe Seung reflected on how much the band has grown — receiving more love, sharing more stories, and creating more music. FULL CIRCLE wasn’t just a tour title; it was a reminder that their music has no beginning or end.
Encore, Encore, and More Encore
What followed next was pure chaos—the good kind.
N.Flying started off with one encore. Then another. Then fans screamed for more. And the band just continued delivering what they are best at.
The unexpected encore haul included “Sunset,” “The Real”, “Hot Potato,” “Leave It,” and finally “Good Night.”
At one point Seunghyub joked that fans needed to work the next day, but fans yelled that they would willingly give up work. The members nearly folded laughing.
The love between N.Flying and N.Fias was unmistakably two-way. Fans had prepared a heartfelt fan video for the band, prompting the members to express their gratitude and apologise for making fans wait so long. But they promised to return soon and perform till they are 80 years old.
From playful jokes to genuine, heartfelt moments, the entire concert felt like an energetic, warm reunion—a night where the band and N.Fias met each other again, changed and grown, yet still running on the same road together.
