After the unfortunate passing of Linkin Park’s lead singer Chester Bennington in Fall last year, fellow band member Mike Shinoda immersed himself in art as a way of processing his grief. With no agenda, Shinoda hunkered down alone in his Los Angeles home and began writing, recording, and painting. The result? The Post Traumatic EP released this January, a collection full of personal songs.
Following the EP’s success, Shinoda went on to develop the EP into a full-fledged album that is intensely personal but according to him, “It’s a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness.” Worried that his best friends would feel left out because of his solo venture, he took a leap and put faith in their friendship by including a line in the chorus “They’ll tell you I don’t care anymore / And I hope you know that’s a lie.”
Singaporean fans are going to get lucky because he’s descending on our shores on the 22ndAugust for his first solo tour! This is one act you don’t want to miss!
