Singapore, 28 March 2014 – Lady First – Singapore will be back on StarHub TV after a successful first season! The well-loved Singapore’s version of Taiwanese beauty and lifestyle magazine show, Lady First, will premiere on 3 June, with a new skincare expert from Taiwan, and an episode specially targeting the men, with a new Men’s Team. The Ladies’ Team, comprising of 13 ladies altogether, includes six new faces. Non-Mandarin speaking customers will also get to enjoy the show as season two will come with English subtitles for the first time.
Lady First – Singapore which is a collaboration among StarHub, Hong Kong TVBI and its Taiwanese arm TVBS, will see the return of straight-talking host Pauline Lan as the anchor. Skincare expert Liu Yan will join the original line-up of Taiwanese resident glamour gurus, comprising of Kevin Chou, Wu Yi Lin and Xiao Kai. Dexter is an award-winning hairstylist who has styled local and regional celebrities like Stefanie Sun, Christy Chung and Gong Li. Homegrown singer Kelly Poon will continue to lead the Ladies’ Team to explore beauty and fashion topics close to the hearts of Singaporean women. These topics range from the most effective slimming method, to dressing in autumn and winter wear with aplomb, in tropical Singapore.
Viewers will also be able to spot six new faces in the Ladies’ Team, with the addition of familiar local artistes such as Charlyn Lin, Lina Ng, Constance Song and Yang Li Bing, as well as popular beauty blogger Hayley Woo, and Eurasian starlet Rebecca Spykerman. They will join seven local personalities from the inaugural Ladies’ Team such as Candyce Toh, Cheryl Wee, and Silver Ang to give their take on beauty and fashion.
“We are encouraged by our viewers’ response to Lady First – Singapore. The success of our inaugural Lady First – Singapore would not have been possible without the support of our partners TVBI and TVBS. Viewership was over three times higher than the previous programme in the same timebelt, and even had a positive knock-on effect on the viewership for the original Taiwanese Lady First programme, also available on StarHub TV,” said Ms Lee Soo Hui, Head of Media Business Unit, StarHub.
She added, “We are pleased to bring back Lady First – Singapore to our viewers with all new exciting beauty and fashion topics, specially customised for the Singaporean audience. With the introduction of our brand new Men’s Team, we also hope to attract the male segment of our customers to watch this programme.”
