Composer turned Singer – Gen Neo targets to make waves back home
28 December 2016, Singapore – It is not a norm to see Singaporeans making waves in the KPop market. We have seen Chinese, Japanese, and a couple of Thais in KPop groups; but someone from Singapore is a rare sight. The last seen was the group SKarf, which featured Tasha and Ferlyn who is already back in Singapore.
A lesser known name Gen Neo is determined to do something back home, after a successful debut in Korea with “Think About Us”. Started out as a composer for big names in Korea like Super Junior-M, Henry, f(x), GOD and Got7; has recently made his transformation from a talented composer to Singer. He works hard like any other new artistes, and promotes doubly hard by himself even though he is friends with Henry and Eric Nam; who could definitely lend his promotions a hand.
Gen Neo released his first Mandopop single Stop Sugar three weeks ago, which charted on the iTunes Mandopop Charts at No. 12 next to veterans JJ Lin and Jay Chou.
This charming man is definitely ready to take on the challenges of being a singer back in the mandarin pop market. Check out our interview with Gen Neo himself below.
