Korean mystery thriller film “Dr. Cheon And The Lost Talisman” sees the highly anticipated comeback of top actors, including Kang Dong Won, Huh Joon Ho, Esom, Lee Dong Hwi and Kim Jong Soo.
Kang Dong Won portrays the role of Dr. Cheon, a fake exorcist who doesn’t believe in the existence of ghosts. Dr. Cheon currently runs a YouTube exorcism channel called Heavenly Cheon TV. He holds the belief that exorcism is about dealing with people’s hearts rather than spirits, solving various incidents with his innate eloquence and an extraordinary insight into people. Unlike most works that focus on exorcism and belong to the occult genre, this film promises fresh and innovative entertainment with a modern setting and lively tone.
In addition to its modern setting, the film presents a mysterious atmosphere with unique elements, such as the iron bell that rings upon detecting evil spirits and the seven-star sword that pierces ghosts. The setting of Seolkyung, a talisman carved with spells and symbols to trap ghosts, along with other elements, creates a distinctively mysterious atmosphere unique to “Dr. Cheon And The Lost Talisman”, solidifying its cinematic world.
The film’s story intensifies with the introduction of Yoo-kyung (played by Esom), who can see ghosts, and the Mage (played by Huh Joon Ho), a malevolent spirit that possesses and moves between bodies, creating a gripping suspense.
With fresh themes, charismatic characters, an exciting mix of exorcism and adventure, and unique settings that diverge from the conventional, “Dr. Cheon And The Lost Talisman” will guide audiences into an intriguing and unprecedented world this year.
