Rookie group 82MAJOR has teased a powerful beat that makes hearts race.
82MAJOR (NAM SEOUNG MO, PARK SEOK JOON, YOON YE CHAN, CHO SEOUNG IL, HWANG SEOUNG BIN, and KIM DO GYUN) unveiled the beat teaser for their first mini album, “BEAT by 82”, through their official social media on the 22nd April.
The revealed teaser features a speedy and intense rhythm that lasts for about 20 seconds. Sounds reminiscent of dribbling a basketball and the squeak of basketball shoes on the court accompany the beat, captivating fans’ ears. Moreover, the visually captivating design of the teaser, resembling a mobile phone screen, also catches attention. The video contains visually appealing waveforms that captivate both sight and sound, intensifying anticipation for 82MAJOR’s new album, “BEAT by 82”.

82MAJOR, a rookie group that debuted in October last year with the aspiration to become the representative “82” of South Korea, has earned the nickname “performance idol” with their solid live skills and stage presence, along with captivating visuals and superior physique.

82MAJOR’s First Mini Album ‘BEAT by 82’
Following their debut single “ON,” 82MAJOR’s new album “BEAT by 82,” released approximately six months later, showcases the members’ outstanding production skills, with each member participating in songwriting to express their distinct identity. The album includes diverse tracks such as the title track “Choke”, along with “Birthday”, “Illegal” and “82”, blending hip-hop and K-pop seamlessly.
The title track ‘Choke’ is a song imbued with 82MAJOR’s confident and intense attitude. The English title ‘Choke’ carries various meanings such as ‘to suffocate’ or ‘to strangle’, arousing curiosity about what message the song will convey.
The track ‘Birthday’ features the collaboration of star composer Ryan Jhun, who has produced numerous K-pop hits. Particularly, as it marks the second collaboration with 82MAJOR following their debut single’s double title track ‘Sure Thing’, it raises even more anticipation.
Furthermore, ‘Illegal’, which received love as the performance video song released before debut, is included as a track with an even more glamorous beat. Also, ’82’, which garnered attention when pre-released at the debut showcase, is officially included in this album due to fans’ enthusiastic interest and requests.
