Yang Mi and Mark Chao each took up three different roles with a mixture of mortal and immortal throughout the plot to depict their encounters in three different lifetimes. Along with the other casts, there are multiple “layers” and side-stories to complement the plot, adding a touch to the completeness of the series.

The china drama series revolves around Chu Qiao (starred by Zhao Li Ying, 赵丽颖), Yuwen Yue (starred by Lin Gengxin, 林更新) and Yan Xun (starred by Shawn Dou, 窦骁).

Chu Qiao is a long-lost daughter of a renown undergrown master but has lost her memory after almost drowning and thereafter adopted by a family.
