It is the story of how one of England’s most famous clubs rose from its humble beginnings to its present day glory, set on a different kind of stage. The Official Story of Liverpool Football Club Musical, written by Nicholas Mark Allt, will be making its debut in Southeast Asia after wowing the crowds in the UK earlier this year.
Attracting rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, the show covers the Club’s vast 120-year history from the perspective of fan and Writer-Producer Allt. The Official Story of Liverpool Football Club Musical brings to life some of the Reds’ greatest memories and glories, documenting stories from the era of Elisha Scott, Albert Stubbins and Billy Liddell to Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and Brendan Rodgers.
Being an ardent LFC supporter and having followed the club all over Europe for the last 40 years, Allt has brought together every significant moment in the Club’s history and created a show that will make fans laugh, cry and cheer out loud. Sharing about his inspiration, Allt said, “Liverpool has some of the most knowledgeable fans in the World; every one of them has a story of their own to tell, and every one of them has the potential to tell the whole history of our great club in their own unique way, so it had to be told right from the heart.”
Allt has previously had massive success with the stage play One Night in Istanbul and LFC-related books such as The Boys from The Mersey, as well as being co-writer of Liverpool’s most popular play of the last 10 years, Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels.
SaiKris Leisure and Alterean Media will host the Asian premiere of The Official Story of Liverpool Football Club Musical in Kuala Lumpur from July 31st to 2nd August 2015. The hit musical will then move on to Jakarta August 7th to 9th and return to Singapore next year.
