The 20th Asian Television Awards (ATA) kicked-off with a resounding bang as Asian Television’s Finest gather to commemorate achievements in the industry over the past year. The first day in this two-day event welcomed celebrated personalities and industry luminaries from Asia and beyond to the Awards’ in Singapore at Suntec City’s state-of-the-art auditorium.
Twenty-eight awards were presented, honouring outstanding content, productions and the talents behind the camera, across various formats and genre. This included the prestigious Award for Outstanding Contribution to Asian Television which was presented to Mr. Liu Changle, Chairman and CEO of Phoenix Satellite Television for his illustrious contributions to the broadcast and television industry.
The ATA will continue Thursday evening, with performances by international superstars including Korean girl group Secret, Indonesia’s Anggun, Prince of Love Ballads Jeff Chang and Swedish boyband JTR. For the first time in its 20-year history, Thursday’s show will be broadcast live on Astro Ria, Astro Ria HD, Bugaboo.tv, LeTV, Media Channel, Toggle and Tonton.
