Good news for all VANS / Takashi Murakami lovers! VANS 2015 June collection is focused on the collaboration with Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami.
From sneakers, to toddlers-sized shoes, apparels and skateboard decks, you can find a range of different designs that Takashi Murakami input for this fall’s collection.
“Murakami’s artistic anime-influenced style is renowned for its incorporation of lively colours, shapes and imagery inspired by traditional Japanese art and pop culture. Generally described as a “superflat” form, his work is known for blurring the line between high and low arts. For fall 2015, two of Murakami’s recurring motifs, the smiling flower and skull patterns, are brought to life in a limited-edition collection of footwear and apparel.” – VANS
Not just your typical VANS slip on, the collection consists of colourful patterns of flowers and skull and you can choose between the vibrant designs with a range of colours or a monotone yet chic sneakerhead with white / gold outlinings.
They also released toddler-sized shoes (for all your nephews / nieces / babies out there!), featuring single image print of flower, skull or pom on the mini-sized slip ons!
The tees and skateboard decks also should not be missed out, featuring the smiling flowers and skulls collage, the most outstanding one would probably be the design with Murakami himself on a blue background!
If you take notice of your favourite K-Pop idols airport fashion, (just like me), you will realized most of them have at least one pair of vans (either slip ons or high cut) in their wardrobe! Just like the famous boy group, EXO have also been seen wearing VANS classic black sneakers on and off stage!
VANS x Takashi Murakami designs are only available in certain stores. Be sure to check them out if you are interested!
