QWER Rocks The Crowd In Singapore At Their First World Tour < ROCKATION >

Debuting in 2023, QWER stands out as one of the rare female bands in the K-pop scene, bringing a refreshing pop-rock song filled with nostalgic coming-of-age vibes. The quartet features Chodan on drums, Magenta on bass, Hina on guitar, and Siyeon on vocal and guitar. What makes the group particularly unique is that each member had already built a presence on line before their debut, whether as streamers, content creators, or as a former member of a Japanese idol group. These experiences translated seamlessly to their stage as the band delivered their best performance in Singapore, their last stop of their first world tour <ROCKATION> (“rock-vacation”).

It was unfortunate that guitarist Hina was unable to take on the stage at the last minute due to a sudden illness. Despite her absence, the energy inside the venue never faltered as the fans continued to cheer enthusiastically for the remaining members as they carried the show forward. The concert opened with a dramatic thunder effect accompanied by striking lights and background music before the members entered the stage with an opening run of “G9JB”, “Overdrive”, and “T.B.H”. Performances of “My Name is Malguem”, “Goodbye My Sadness” and “Fake Idol” further highlighted the band’s musicality and stage presence throughout the show.

Beyond the performance itself, the concert was filled with memorable moments showcasing the group’s playful charm. The members delighted the audience by trying out Singlish phrases between songs, calling out lights such as “Everybody clap together, can or not?” and rewarding the crowd with cheerful “steady la” and “eh sai bo”. At their closing speech, the QWER members even promised “confirm plus chop see you all again”, earning applause and cheers from fans. Their chemistry was equally evident as they playfully faced off with their instruments during certain sections of the show. The group also led the audience in a coordinated wave from front to back and left to right, with fans enthusiastically joining in. In one particularly amusing segment, when discussing what gift they could give their fans, Magenta shyly demonstrated her unique dance, encouraged by the laughter and support of Siyeon and Chodan.

As the night progressed, the mood softened with heartfelt performances of “Harmony of Stars”, “Goodbye My Sadness”, and “Yours Sincerely”. The fans belted out to the encore song of “Harmony of Stars”, before the band returned for an encore section, closing the concert on a high note.

The fans also prepared a touching surprise; a special VCR tribute and cake presentation for the group, leaving the members visibly moved and wiping away tears. The emotional exchange showed the strong bond between QWER and Bawiges, and we definitely are looking forward to the band returning to the city again soon, hopefully with all four members on stage together.
