The press conference for Disney+‘s k-drama series Blood Free kicked off with Ju Jihoon introducing his character – Woo Chaewoon as the role of someone who is a soldier turned bodyguard whom experienced a terror attack when the President of Korea visited his military base. While he is doing an undercover investigation trying to search for who is behind the terror attack, a series of events led him to the CEO of BF Yun Jayu (acted by Han Hyojoo) and he intentionally became her bodyguard.

Han Hyojoo hopes that Blood Free gets the same love from audiences as how her last drama Moving did. She shared that her character Yun Jayu is the one in charge of creating new type of lab grown meat. That means she dealt a big blow to the primary meat industry and is under attack by a lot of different people and in order to protect herself from these people, she wants to hire a bodyguard and that bodyguard is Woo Chaewoon. But then behind all that is Woo Chaewoon just a bodyguard, or does he have an ulterior motive? Yun Jayu doubts Woo Chaewoon because there are a lot of coincidences that happened so that’s why she is doubtful of him.

This is Ju Jihoon’s first time collaborating with Han Hyojoo and he thinks that she is a very solid actor. She’s an actor that provides very dense performances and he feeIs like he can rely on her while collaborating with her on set. Han Hyojoo on the other hand felt that she was the one that is relying on Ju Jihoon while they are on set because as an actor he has a great presence on set and he has the eyes of a producer. If something is about to go wrong on set, he would be vocal about it hence he is such a great person to rely on.

Lee Heejun shared that his character Sun Woojae is the only child of a conglomerate family and the Prime Minister of Korea. His maternal grandfather also once served as the President of Korea. This was Lee Heejun’s first time acting in a role with such impressive background. There are scenes where his character is eating with his father in luxurious restaurants and he had fun looking around the set and those expensive whiskies. He has never been to places like that, but thanks to his character Sun Woojae, he is able to visit those places.

Lee Musaeng’s character On San, is Yun Jayu’s friend of 20 years, He majors in Physiology and he one of the founding members of the BF group. He is very cool, headed and rational, but is also someone that Yun Jayu can always rely and fall back on. Lee Musaeng added that he has a really nice chemistry with the other cast members of this series, they have so much synergy so it was very enjoyable to be on set and he hopes that this would be shown through the drama.

Director Park also shared that it was an honor for him to direct such a star-studded series. When he was preparing for the series, he did not know the final list of casts and when he heard the casts that are joining, the big names, he was taken aback a little bit. There is nothing more he could have asked for, he was fearless on set as he felt that there was nothing that could go wrong with a perfect script and veteran actors.

Blood Free will premier on Disney+ on 10 April, be sure to catch it!
