PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones

OPPO Singapore introduces another ‘first’ in their technology lineup: the world’s lightest planar magnetic headphones. First unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, the PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones have received rave reviews for sound quality and craftsmanship.

Said Sean Deng, Managing Director of OPPO Singapore, “OPPO’s obsession with details has led the brand in creating products that are of the highest quality, innovative and beautiful. These fantastic headphones are no exception and will nicely complement OPPO’s range of innovative smartphones. The PM-3 will appeal to both audiophile and sound enthusiasts looking for a premium sound coupled with a high degree of comfort.”

The OPPO PM-3 combines true audiophile performance, elegant styling, noise isolation and portability into a pair of sleek, lightweight planar magnetic headphones. With the PM-3, users can easily re-create the experience of listening to live music or a high-quality two-channel speaker system in an optimized listening room, but in a portable form that can be taken anywhere. Tipping the scale at less than 320 grams, the PM-3 is the world’s lightest closed-back planar magnetic headphone design. This makes the PM-3 the ideal headphones for active, on-the-go individuals.

Its elegant styling and exquisite workmanship make the PM-3 a pleasure to wear. It is easy to listen for hours on end due to the exceptional comfort afforded by its light weight. The closed-back nature of the PM-3 provides isolation from the outside world, blocking out the surrounding noise while avoiding sound leakage from the headphones.

Key features of the PM-3 include:
• Excellent sound quality from planar magnetic drivers
• Closed-back design for privacy and noise isolation
• High sensitivity, lightweight and comfortable fit
• Elegant styling and exquisite workmanship

The OPPO PM-3 utilizes a planar magnetic driver that is derived from it predecessor, the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) award-winning PM-1 headphones. Technological breakthroughs achieved during the PM-1’s development, such as the seven-layer double-side voice coil diaphragm design and FEM-optimized neodymium magnet system, have enabled OPPO to reduce the weight of the planar magnetic drivers while maintaining excellent sound quality and high sensitivity. This driver would not have been possible without the breakthroughs achieved in the PM-1’s driver design.

In the PM-3’s planar magnetic driver, sound is generated by a very thin and light diaphragm, which is driven in a symmetric pull-push manner. The magnetic system and conductor patterns have been optimized for maximum sensitivity and consistency. This allows the diaphragm to generate very stable and linear piston-like vibrations, ensuring phase coherence and high-resolution performance with minimal distortion.

The driver’s smaller size and high sensitivity overcome the shortcomings of traditional planar magnetic technology, such as being difficult to drive and heavy weight. This all-new 55mm-diameter round driver is especially suitable for a lightweight close-back design like the PM-3. The PM-3 maintains the very natural and smooth sound signature of the PM-1, and is tuned to have deep, tight bass and a touch of excitement.

With its deep bass, smooth midrange, and clear treble, the PM-3 delivers a very natural and balanced sound with plenty of emotion and impact. The PM-3 has a retail price of $579 and is available at the OPPO Flagship Store at Suntec City.

HA-2 Headphone Amplifier

First unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, the HA-2 Headphone amplifier and DAC sets new standard in craftsmanship and portable sound quality.

Said Sean Deng, Managing Director of OPPO Singapore, “The HA-2 is another example of OPPO’s obsession with details. From its striking good looks, compact frame and luxury feel, to its engineering and first rate performance in sound quality, the HA-2 is evidence of the brand’s passion for excellence.”

The HA-2 is a powerful portable headphone amplifier with a built-in rechargeable battery. Engineered to enhance music playback from mobile phones and portable music players, it is also a great companion device to ultrabook laptop computers.

Sporting an ultra-slim metal body and wrapped in real leather, the sleek design of the HA-2 is a departure from other bulkier and generic-looking headphone amplifiers on the market. With its remarkable design and aesthetic, the HA-2 meshes equally well in the pocket of an urban Millennial or on the desk of a successful business executive.

It also features a hybrid class AB amplifier and a USB DAC that supports 384 kHz PCM and DSD256. The HA-2 offers high performance digital-to-analog conversion for Apple’s iPhone/iPod products, a wide range of Android devices, as well as both PC and Mac computers.

A multi-function device, the HA-2 also operates as a portable power bank to charge mobile devices on the go. The patented VOOC rapid charge technology means that the HA-2 itself can be efficiently charged in 30 minutes.

Headphones of all performance ranges can benefit from the HA-2’s excellent performance and powerful amplification. The HA-2 is available at the OPPO Flagship Store at Suntec City at $469.
